My Toyota dealer screwed me with service or inspections too. While they gave me a good price on a Tacoma, (but I haggled with salesperson for months), they also sucked at service. I came in early for oil changes and they lazily never rotated tires (which I didn’t realize until 2 years of coming in). How I found out is one of their service guys said I need an alignment. I was so confused. An alignment for a 2 year old vehicle that has been babied? Finally I realized they never rotated tires during the many oil changes. Now I service my car myself or use an independent shop.

Things have not really changed. This has been going on for years. I got taken so much at the Honda dealer that when I got my new car (different brand), I vowed to go to the dealer only for warranty repair. I will even hate to do that, but I will be forced to. I also may need to let them change my CVT fluid, but they already told me they will refuse to change the filter, so that puts me between a rock and a hard place. I'm afraid if I don't have them change the fluid, if something happens with the CVT, they will blame it on where I got it serviced. Also, the free oil changes auto manufacturers offer are a gimmick. Those are just to get you into the dealership. Once there, they always find all kinds of other stuff you need done that you have to pay for. I learned that the hard way. I was so happy when my current manufacturer did not offer free oil changes, but now they are starting to do that with the 2025's. Nothing is ever truly free.

Took my '06 Lexus to the Toyota dealership for brakes. Pads & disks all around but no calipers. They gave me an estimate of $2300!!! OEM parts from Lexus that I priced out were a mere fraction of this cost. I understand they need to make a profit but this is ridiculous. I took it to a local repair shop and had the job done with high end pads and disks. $1100 cost.... Car stops like when new. Dealerships are a friggin' joke!

I only go to dealership for yearly inspection and recalls. Everything else I do it myself or go to another shop. The last time I was at a dealership was 5 years ago. I was there for oil change, replace filters, put in a new battery, and rotate the tires. When I got the vehicle back I told them they did not do the tire rotation. They told i did then I showed them a video I took just 1 hour before arriving at the dealership in which I put my rims had certain marking due to used and ware. Then iI show them that the same was on my car. They came back and told me the guy its always the guy who was suppose to do it forgot. I told them if he forgot then who put down it was done . They started apologizing and told me to give them 10 minutes and they will do it. Then I told them to remove it from my bill and give me back my car. Then they told me next time I come I will get a free oil change, I told them I was never coming back and I will be making appropriate notification to state.

It could be the tpms light flash on startup as a prove out for the bulb if the light remains on solid,there a fault is indicated which warrants a detailed look . if the light goes out , the system is happy .The service writer probably called it normal as in a failed attempt to reassure you

never will I take my car to a dealer in my life. Took it once and it was the last time. I rather destroy the car myself or take it to the crushed then to give them money. What they do is an absolute criminal scam to all the people that give them their hard earned cash. Not to mention their work is below sleazy and trash

I never go to dealerships for service. Years ago I had a Toyota paseo. There was a grinding noise. The dealer mechanic calls and said the noise was coming from under the timing belt cover, he doesn’t know what it is and it would be $150.00 an hour to take it apart to diagnose it. So I ask, what could it be? What’s under there that could be causing it? the guy starts yelling at me, sir I told you I don’t know. So I say, I understand but what could it be?Then the guy starts screaming at me swearing and going ballistic. So, now I’ve pretty much had it, and I say to the guy, you’re a Toyota mechanic, right, you know what’s under the timing belt cover right? You should have some concept of what could be the problem. The guy goes even more ballistic and puts the service manager on the phone and she starts telling me off for abusing her guy. I couldn’t believe it. I cut her off, told her what happened and what she could do to herself, picked up my car and never went back. Since then I found two trust worthy independent mechanic shops that have always done me right. PS it wasn’t something under the timing belt cover, it was the transmission. I put a rebuilt in and got another 100,000 miles out of the old car. They can go scr*w themselves.
@AshModz36928 күн бұрын
Wow, thanks for sharing that's crazy! Wonder what they would have told you after 'diagnosing' the problem. Yikes

@ I think I would have paid for them to fix nothing and still had a failing transmission.

I replaced the cabin air filter with an OEM right before I dropped my Toyota off at the dealership. Guess what, they recommended changing that filter soon!! I think they go by time and they don't inspect everything visually.

Next time, take your spare tire out and watch them claim they checked the depth ✅️ 😂🤡
@a.a.a.r523827 күн бұрын
@@AshModz369 For tire rotation, i've actually checked and they rotate them - there is a unique code on the side of each tire. For depth, I am not sure if they care about that.

This video speaks so much truth! They never count on that your educated and know your vehicle. They assume you're stupid and they can get away with lieing about your vehicle needing things when they really don't. Stay educated and don't trust them.
