Can you remember if it was a struggle connecting the centre stand springs onto the stand, did you use a tool or hook the springs up before fitting the stand bolts? Thanks

I bought a new 1970 R75/5 for $2,000. Grey/Silver. Never had a problem. Sold in 1979 with 94,000 miles for $1,000. What’s that, $100/year?! Great bike. Now I have an R1200GS. Even greater bike!

This is really great. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this - I bet you had a great time. Next year it'll be 40 years since the K bikes arrived on the scene. Do you think it would be possible to do the same with a K100RS? Are all the parts available?

What a great video! As an airhead rider, I really appreciate a backstage look at your shop practices. I was curious to see what parts costing $46K in 2013 would have been in 1974 so I went to an online calculator of the consumer price index adjusted for inflation and came up with $9,734.84. So, roughly three times the selling price of an assembled rig then! It just goes to show that a restoration is a labor of love; you can never get out of it what you put into it. Thanks for sharing. It would have been even more educational if you had verbally given the torque specs as you went through the checklist and included checking the torque on the engine mounting points, imo. Looking fwd to the build vid.

Beautiful bike. I had an R65. Nothing like an opposed twin BMW from that vintage.

This is fantastic! Love it. If only it weren't cost prohibitive to build them this way...
