Ich mag den Kontrast vom Muttergestein zu diesen roten Bändern, was die helle Quarzmitte noch verstärkt. Achate gebettet in ihrer Matrix haben einen besonderen (Lieb)Reiz.

Something like that would you just leave it and polish it? Or do you ever cut off the excess matrix? That is gorgeous!

Beautiful patterns. Wonder how pattern changes if additional 4-5mm slices are made on one-half of stone. Approximately what year did these stones come to the American marketplace; did they show up in digital catalogs or @ Tucson?

Joshua, magnificent agate, as per your usual. Question. What causes the bands to be hazy or plumy instead of a well defined band like in a waterline or fortification agate. There are still repetitive, but not as clear cut so to speak. How are they formed?🤔

Awesome pattern on this Laguna agate! If you were to make further cuts, on at least one of the halves, I wonder how the pattern would change. Are you game? Just a suggestion. Thanks for sharing.

@@joane.landers9151 I don’t think it would turn out better than it looks right now. I only place recuts when I have hopes to increase the beauty of the pattern on the face. 😊

Hello brother Joshua, I have a lot of Moroccan agate stones. Are you interested in this type...? I would like a way to contact you personally...

I am sure you are one of the best agate cutters and you can explain it also so well. So beautiful agate. I am at the bottom of the Vesuvius in Pompei, but people have no clue what I am asking for. Maybe there were no agates at this eruption. Too recent
@joshuaritter-agatebayКүн бұрын
Thank you so much Henriette. Experience and patience are key to making good decision on cutting agates. Sometimes agates are forming millions of years after the actual volcanic activities. Seems like you’d have to stay there for a little longer. 😂

One of my big ones I cut is loaded with calcite in the middle and has a small outer layer of chalcedony. Would you dissolve the calcite? It glows bright pink under uv light
@doodletime90414 күн бұрын
Sounds like a good idea, could be a nice geode pocket

I think in most cases it looks better to dissolve the calcite and reveal what’s hidden below. 😊
