Of course it's easier, but it's also ridiculously expensive and wasteful. A "middle ground" could be to buy a cartridge that is made to be refilled

@@TheDeniz2694 It is not useless, but very inconvenient. HP is greedy and wants everyone buying their expensive cartridges. The chips are not intelligent and only count the number of pages. It is like a count down and will not go back up. The refills allow continual printing, but you have to guess or keep track of the pages yourself. Blame HP! Also, keep the 2020 version of the firmware, never upgrade or this too will become a problem as they will also time out after so many pages permanently.

What does this do the the setup display for available toner? Does it reset the values by weight or toner amount?

No. There is no actual sensor measuring the toner amount; it's all based on pages printed

Херня а не Заправка, Обязательно нужно разбирать картридж полностью, чистить дозирующее лезвие, чистящие лезвия,бункер для отработанного тонера и т.д. и обязательно менять чипы! Только тогда вы продлите жизнь картриджу ,принтеру и сэкономите на покупке нового .
