When I remember that, I feel so sad! What could have been!? He prepared himself, working so hard to be in shape for this World Cup, he was playing brilliantly, with that genius ability and maturity! People say that Argentina would have won the World Cup if he stayed on!!! It's hard to say, we will never know! It was still too early to say! But I think at the very least semifinal! And I could say that potentially, they had the potential to win this World Cup!!! But at least we would have seen SPECIAL things from Diego, in the way he was shaping himself in this World Cup!!! They ROBBED us from seen such a memorable and brilliant farewell from Diego himself, from football, finishing in such a HIGH STANDARD and giving us all such a TREAT OF FOOTBALL!!!!

I am an England supporter, and I don't think the ball was completely over the line. However, they did score another goal; and they have been on the receiving end of two of the worst goal decisions in subsequent World Cups. The Maradona handball in 1986 and the Frank Lampard disallowed goal in 2010.

Linus Hallenius goal for Hammarby in June 2010. He controls a long ball with his chest out on the left wing, flicks it over the defender towards the touchline with his right, and then volleys it all the way across to the right hand side of the goal with his left foot, just like Van Basten's famous volley. Linus Hallenius is right footed and he scored this goal when he was only 21.

No it was Roger Hunt who had a good a view as anyone. As you say he could have followed through and made sure and the fact he didn’t strongly suggests the ball was over.
