While not my favourite of the trilogy I really enjoyed it. Still had the classic Guardians humour while also going more dramatic and somber than the previous entries. Rocket’s backstory was tragically and beautifully told.

I need to get out and see this one. I have felt that many haven't liked the Fantastic Beasts movies, like you outline, our family however has enjoyed them and we look forward to seeing the third one soon.
@filmforfans82652 жыл бұрын
Definitely go see it. Even if they aren't the Harry Potter movies, they are still very much worth seeing.
enjoyed your dialogue, appreciated Laurens comments.

Thanks! Lauren was a very welcome addition to the discussion.

Thanks for the theme idea! I think we’re going to go through the Jaws movies, which are now on Peacock, and the Sharknado movies, which are on Amazon Prime.

Good Watched Lists this week. You can't go wrong with Toe Pick and Nuwanda. My two Emily Blunt recommendations are "The Adjustment Bureau" and "Looper". I also want to see her in this summer's "Jungle Cruise" with Dwayne Johnson. Looks fun but quite fantastical.
@filmforfans82653 жыл бұрын
Those are also fantastic Emily Blunt movies. She really does have a really good filmography. Jungle cruise does look interesting as well.

We also just watched Crimson Peak! Because it was finally available to stream.

I hope that Knives Out 2 and 3 get different titles! The title Knives Out was pretty specific to certain elements in that particular movie.
@filmforfans82653 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you're probably right, but I'm guessing they'll stay with Knives Out for branding and visibility reasons.

Interesting news from WB!! The internet definitely changed the movie (and music) industry, but covid pushed it along faster.

For sure. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next few years.

Atlantic Rim!! It might only be available through the MST3000 reboot, but that makes it even better. Or worse.

I remember Sean Connery first from "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" and "Medicine Man" and then "The Hunt for Red October". Then "Highlander II: The Quickening" and "First Knight". And then "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". I actually have not seen any Connery Bond. "If it's not Scottish, it's crap!" Also definitely watch "The Cabin in the Woods" if you have not!! Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard. 'Nuff said.
@filmforfans82653 жыл бұрын
Connery's filmography is just so dense and amazing, it's hard to get to all of his movies. I (Ryan) will have to check out Cabin in the Woods as I'm the only podcast member who hasn't seen it. I'm getting too many recommendations not to.

Note: movie theaters actually pop popcorn with a buttery-flavored powder so that you don’t have to add that greasy stuff to it. I still love the smell of theater popcorn, but I can’t eat it anymore. Too many years of free all-you-can-eat popcorn there.
@filmforfans82653 жыл бұрын
Yeah the free popcorn can ruin you

I used to work at Blockbuster. I missed that you said they have a living room set up the first time I listened, and I was thinking how uncomfortable it would be to sleep on the floor. And you’d have to use the employees’ bathrooms, which don’t actually contain a bath. Also, the Sam Neil movie you were thinking of is Event Horizon. Definitely worth a watch.
@filmforfans82653 жыл бұрын
The living room set up is cool, it's intentionally 90's. There is no mention of the bathroom situation in the airbnb listing, so you might be right on that. We'd still go for it either way. And yeah Event Horizon, interesting movie.

I don't think I'd pay $30 for Mulan, but I would hope it would be available to stream next year. There are only 2 people in our household, so that price is more than we would pay to see it in the theater. Maybe Disney will let people pay to rent it . . .
@ryandunlevy10914 жыл бұрын
Valerie Miller Yeah you would think at some point they’ll have to release it for rental on other services.
@valeriemiller45474 жыл бұрын
Atomic popcorn sounds disgusting. But I used to work at a movie theater, and I still LOVE the smell of popcorn even though I do NOT eat it anymore. And I SO miss getting to see free movies.
@ryandunlevy10914 жыл бұрын
Free movies are the best. And working at a theater definitely gives you the love of popcorn and popcorn smell!
