Nancy kerrigan and tonya harding raised ice skating even higher in 1994. I agree with Tonya she deserves some kind of residual.

At the time I was still so caught up in Nancy Kerrigan that I didn’t think she deserved it at the time. Looking back I see she did. Nancy was beautiful skater as well but Oksana brought something special
@spirittammyk6 күн бұрын
Yeah, I agree. I still love both and have a soft spot for Nancy, but Oksana just has that special charisma she adds to her performances. My favorite from her is "Las Isla Bonita" and "Arabian" from Peter Gabriel. My favorite from Nancy is "Summer Nights" from Too Hot To Skate. Nobody can take away the joy these women gave me while growing up in a small trailer park.

I loved them both….both Peggy and Dorothy. I never knew some of this video…such a tragedy for that early team. I was just a little girl. I remember Peggy, and I remember Dorothy. Loved their performances in that sport!! Thank you for showing the spirit of resilience, but also memories of the ones who passed on.

So shocked when the news was released to the media that he had died. Skating fans were totally stunned that a man in his prime would be taken down so quickly by sudden heart problems. Saw Ekaterina at one of her first solo appearances. It was bittersweet to watch her skate solo.

LaVona was the most vile person in this whole sorry saga. Watching her smirk as she practically begs the TV show to send her to Norway at their buck made me sick. 5 times married…..that tells you what kind of creature she is. Always playing the victim too…..shameless creature.

It was truly a dark day. An immeasurable loss for figure skating and the world. Next year, it will be 30 years. No one who loved skating then will forget that day, reading that headline, or Katia & Sergey. They are legends forever, still unmatched.

Why are people moaning about the film quality? Most of it is 30yrs old!! Looks like old VHS footage not digital.

Because all the skating footage is available on KZbin in much better quality, e.g. Revolution/Imagine - kzbin.info/www/bejne/haGcfoZnm5iKd80

I remember when he died. He just suddenly dropped dead. It turned out he had a genetic mutation that made his blood clot. I hope it’s not hereditary and Katia gets Daria tested. Their story is heartbreaking! I read Katia’s book “My Sergei”.
