Saddened by Tom's passing. I'll always remember the trips down to Mexico to fish & surf. He was a good man.

He was indeed, and he certainly left his mark on the world of fishing as well.

Wonder what's the length on that pole
@IGFAHQ

🤔 typically it depends on the length of the skiff. They tend to be about 3 feet longer than the skiff itself - or thereabouts

Rest in peace all of them. When i lived in Bella Vista behind the Riba Smith, i lived in an apartment. Theodore Schmidt, his wife josefina branca Schmidt, 4 children, aunt and grandmother lived downstairs. Lovely neighbors. He died aug 1995. My grandparents and parents worked for panama canal. Excellent video. I have always said that the persons that worked for the canal in the early years, worked very hard. May God bless the person who did this video. I love history

no name given for the knot. No clarity as to what the bearing line is. just tie it to the boat and then tie to the post like we would on. a boat. sorry but this is not at all clear

Is this truly bi-directional? I have all my offshore charts on my tablet. Will it synch with them so I can use them on my Axiom 12 pro plotter?

In the old Frontier Anglers catalog, out of Dillon MT (when I owned it) there is a knot called the Conley Loop. The same knot only twice through. Breaking strength is right at 99%, I tested it a ton of times. Less material used. This is the only knot I use for bones, permit and streamer fishing and have used it for over 40 years.

Thank you for a bare bones, straight to the point video. This was definitely the best PR knot video using this type of tool. Most of the other videos are 15 to 20 minutes long. I like how you showed it with the two colored lines and then tied the actual real life knot.

Awesome video…! I've been fishing stripers since the late ’60s… I was 8or9 then…I'm 63 now and still casting my old-school style heaver… the rod is not so old-school... It's a 12’ St. Croix Avid Caster... The reel is ABU Garcia 10000 c and it's between 50& 60 years old but brand new…!
