@20:06 which "goodie bag"? the 'gen~_bufferplay' snippet is not included in the cycling74/books/go/resources zip file that's included with the book i cant find it anywhere online, including the gen4_example_patches zip from the gen~ for beginners tutorial on c74's site nor the musichackspace event page for this meetup

I'd love to share my setup with the TD community that uses Resolume to handle audio reaction, MIDI, GUI, and Clip playback and has TD handle all real-time generative visuals and post processing via Engine COMPs.

@copperandcedar - Can you give any details on how you made the ProxiMIDI achieve the string bowing control seen at 11:57? Was this some kind of special ability in Diva, or is this specific to some other VST? Thank you! ProxiMIDI is a fabulous tool!

After some digging, I believe the bow control example uses one of the SWAM Solo Strings instruments.
@copperandcedar
@copperandcedar 5 ай бұрын
Thanks! To achieve the bowing effect, in the current version of ProxiMIDI Control (the free companion software for ProxiMIDI), if you set "Hand Location" to "Relative", MIDI output will be based on how much your hand is moving rather than your hand's absolute position. At 12:20 I am using the virtual instrument "SWAM Cello" by Audio Modeling. I have the ProxiMIDI mapped to control "expression" which, in this virtual instrument, corresponds to bow movement.

@@copperandcedar Thank you, that is all very helpful! No need to reply, but I am also wondering... is SWAM Cello your favorite of the three SWAM string instruments? I may buy the bundle eventually, but I'd like to start with just one.

You can find a hyperlink to the patches inside the book. Kindle isn’t exactly accurate with page numbers but the link is located on/about page 17. Not finding a link specific to this meetup. If anyone has anything additional, please drop a link.

Sorry I missed this live, but the audio level is very low and poor quality in this recording. Not a huge fan of discord. The meetup recordings from Zoom were far superior. If continuing to use discord we need to get better balance of audio levels between speakers. Bileam's audio is clearest, but Josef and most others had very low level audio.
