That brought back A lot of fond memories. The light show at the beginning and the escalator tunnel at the end were my favorite parts as a kid. Thank you for the memories.

i was holding back tears for most of this video. i'm 63 years old and 1967 tomorrowland is a very fond memory for me. we would usually take the monorail into the park,so tomorrowland was what we would see first. it wasn't until my teens that i started going in the main entrance. seeing the peoplemover, skyway and all the rest of tomorrowland at the beginning of this video was a window into my past. we always rode the carousel of progress, and as a 6 year old i was fascinated by the story it told. if disney wants to do the right thing they will dust off the blueprints of the '67 tomorrowland and rebuild it as it was...the way walt envisioned it. anything else is a waste of time and money in my opinion.

I loved it when the Peoplemover would go through this show building and you could see Progress City and I also remember looking down into the gift shop or that may have been another show building..

I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to see the last act and the post show. I was lucky to frequent Disneyland during these years. I think COP was a free attraction as was Adventure Thru Inner Space. Tomorrowland at that time was compelling and inspiring. I recall walking down Main Street in the morning, towards the hub and the majority of people would make a sharp right into Tomorrowland.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION. in scene 4 the one detail you might miss but takes up most the background..Look out the window, what do you see?....It's EPCOT....no not the theme park built in 1982...the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow. Mother and Father (of the future) lived in "Progress City"...and think of all the time wasted.....you could've had it by now. a Progress City of your own to live in and I mean where you live right now.

I think we all knew appliances weren't lasting as long. Now the Washington Post had an article that one should expect fridges, dishwashers, dryers etc to last about 5 years.

This really brings back many fond memories as a child. This was my favorite iteration of the Carousel of Progress. Thank you so much for bringing a bit of Disney memories into our homes. Nicely done!

I remember the escalator at the end taking you up to see the model of what I believe they ended up calling "Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow" or "EPCOT", but it didn't last long, eventually you would just exit toward the back where you come in.

From this to promoting homosexuality, transgenderism and woke... Disney, you suck.

It's insane literally everything is better in this vs current and especially 1980. The intro was miles beyond in conciseness and Disney magic.
@araanimations11 ай бұрын
The acting in 1980 is much less sincere and on style with this than 1993's update. Sherman brothers did do their best but don't get me started on the intentions behind switching in Now is the Best Time.

Such a unique attraction. My favorite part was actually the upstairs portion. I can see why Walt Disney spent his last years trying to create something like that for real. It isn't very practical, but what an amazing idea that spawns so many more ideas!

I saw some pictures of disneyland from the 60s, and that made me think of the carousel of progress. i still remember going on that ride in the late 1960s, more than 50 years ago with my parents, who have now passed. I loved disneyland, it seemed to glow with wonder, promise, optimism and a better future. Thank you so much for putting this video together. what an amazing look back into my childhood. and thank you to my parents for taking me there.

Great job, thanks for doing this! Does anyone have an explanation of why, in the footage, sometimes he's on a stool, and sometimes behind the table in Act 3? Was there a running change while at Disneyland, or is some of the footage from the Fair or from WDW? edit: I found the answer. Behind the table at the fair, on the stool at Disneyland. :)

Would anyone out there like to see the Carousel of Progress Upgraded, I really would its time to update every ecene, We should start pff in the 1970s. And start svene one. They could even adertise the carousel in the show on a tv. 2nd Scene 1990s. 2nd scene 2010s 4th Scene 2030s.Or skip each scene 30 years ahead. Now is the Time for a major update, i LOVE THE Now is the Time Carousel of Progress as a kid. And we now are in 2022. There not many people left from 1890. or the 1920s. See this is why a shift needs to take place keep this attraction alive. And there are some people left from the 1940s. But we nned to make a great big beautiful tommorw for the Carousel of progress. And Now is the time to update the Carousel of progress for its 60t Birth Day in 2024. So team up and wright to walt disney world if you would really like to keep this attraction for another 60 years. Abd if you agree to Save The Carousel of Progress.

Very cool to see, I grew up with the GE now is the time version. They need to keep the good old carousel of progress alive another 60 years , Of course it needs updating, But this is one original attraction in DisneyWorld.

@9:29, it's most likely that "Loulie Jean Norman" sang the background vocalizing in the transition song. She's well known for also being the lady opera singer (wings on helmet) in the Haunted Mansion, and the vocalizer in the intro music for the original 1966 Star Trek series.

I was there and lived it back in the day. This was one of the most feel good about life, feel good about yourself, and feel good about the future there was for a young, wide eyed kid in California. This recreation is the closest and best I can find of that memory. Such good vibes and optimism about what the future held for all of us. How sad the reality is of what came to be.

Last seen by me in 1973 in Disneyland, & looking forward to my first WDW trip in 2022. My grandma took me to Disneyland every year when I was a kid, and this was def one of her favorite attractions. (The cringey mother stuff was just real felt stuff to her then. That’s history folks.) Almost 50 years later I’d love to see it again in memory of my lovely grandma. Ahhh, nostalgia. But oh it’s not the same at this point, so thx for the vlog, it’s super great to experience the almost past vicariously.
