Nice work at Cow Island with those Reds. I mostly fish around the VA Hospital/HRBT area.. occasionally taking my 15ft whaler out to the CBBT. I'm installing Livescope in the next few weeks and hope that helps me sort thru the pilings for Sheepies a little quicker. I only recently stumbled upon your channel and subscribed, as I really like the local stuff. Definately think your wife should have a GoPro on.. it'll just add more great content to your videos! Those battle 3's are okay for bait fishing but I think they are absolutely terrible for lure fishing. It's hard to explain but when cranking the handle even with an empty spool it takes way more effort than it should and due to that when lure fishing you just feel disconnected from your lure. Imo there are alot better reels in/around that price point for light tackle fishing. The diawa bg is just one example.
@1stTide10 күн бұрын
I do agree. I believe the penn internals are more durable/corrosion resistant but those diawas are way smoother in general. I have a bg mq 2500 on my light rod and it’s far superior. My wife’s got the bg 3000 and she absolutely loves it

Yes I fish back river a good bit. Mainly the marshes all around plum tree. I’ve tried the reef from a boat before but had no idea what I was doing LOL. Did pick up a nice 24” flounder off the channel edge by Messick point last year. Seems like when I get trout out of that area it’s by luck, still learning how to target those specifically🤙🏼
