Correction - Mixed doors closed block air from going through the heater core, and only allow air that passed over the evaporator to enter the mixing chamber.

Great video. One question... most of the functionality seems to be coming from the Android Carpuride unit with the Willmans really only providing a convenient volume control and tone controls. How integrated are the BT functions? If you connect into the BT on the Willmans radio, does the Carpuride unit 'see' that and display a music player that can control song selection or are you limited to using the Willmans to navigate the selection of songs?

I still need to check how an ipod connected to the radio works and how music stored on the phone works. I'll do that ASAP so I can give you a thorough answer.
@nsxspdfreak
@nsxspdfreak 8 ай бұрын
Here is what I found. If you are connected to the Carpuride, and you are playing music from your phone's music files, Pandora via the phone, Spotify, Amazon Music, memory stick connected to the radios' USB inputs, or the Carpuride's SD Card, the Carpuride provides full control of the music. You can bring up a window showing the tracks which you can scroll through, select, skip and repeat (to repeat Pandora requires that you first set up repeats on the Pandora app on your phone). The radio is just to transmit to the speakers, but you can still use the radios volume, bass, treble, subwoofer, balance and fader controls. Carpuride's equalizer controls also work. If you turn off Carpuride, after a short delay the radio will connect back to the phone's bluetooth, which will allow you to operate all the features on the radio for controlling music. When you turn the Carpuride back on you will have to go into it's settings menu for bluetooth connections in order to reconnect to the radio (very simple to do). One interesting thing I found after doing a lot of investigating is that the new Kenwood KMM-BT732HD radio that Daryl is installing is not compatible to iPods. If you connect an iPod you will get a "Unsupported Device" message on the radio. I'm not sure if Daryl is aware of it, but if he is, does he know a fix since there are none that I could find searching the internet. An ipod isn't really necessary with today's phones, memory sticks and the Carpuride's 64gb SD Card.

No I don't. I have a Willmans radio which looks OEM but is a modern radio with Bluetooth, satellite, Pandora, USB, Alexa. The smart screen can control the radio or the radio can be controlled from it's remote.

Since I just installed it today I have yet to try it out in the bright sun, but I've been told it's pretty good and if you install a anti-glare screen protector it's even better. I bought one just in case.

@nsxspdfreak

This is an old video. Unfortunately I wasn't able to do a before and after dyno run. I had planned on it, but got side tracked when the first dyno run showed a 20hp lower output then what was to be expected from a stock motor. The problem turned out to be a brand new TB that had jumped 2 teeth and a wiped out front head exhaust cam bearing. Due to some other VTEC issues that had to be ironed out after a new head and headers where installed the car never made it back to to the dyno. Last Feb was when I finally got it on a dyno. With the Pride headers, resonated test pipes, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, 315cc Bosch fuel injectors and Dali chipped ECM the motor put out 280.5whp. I recently had the throttle body bored and intake manifold matched so this winter I plan on taking it to two different dynos for testing. Hacking the OBD2 ECM is also on the to-do list.

A resonated test pipe is basically a de-cat? Except the pipe is not just straight through but has some features that enhances the sound? Asking because I found a second hand Pride V2 for sale but the sound in your video is too loud. Leaving the cats in there would quiet the exhaust down some I'd expect?

@nsxspdfreak
@nsxspdfreak 7 жыл бұрын
Josh Donivan Whether there's drone or no drone is subjective. It's pretty quiet during normal driving conditions, but it's loud when you're hard on the throttle or at highway speeds of 80mph+. Highway speeds on the interstate around here avg 82-90+ so when I'm driving at those speeds for more than 4 hours it can start to wear on you. We're planning on a long trip up to the Carolinas so I have a much quieter Comptech exhaust system on standby just for the trip, but this will always be the primary system.

Interesting, thank you for such a detailed response. I love the road trip capability of the nsx and how comfortable it is. I live in VA and have made multiple trips to NC and PA for family and friends and on the highway I wouldn't want it too much louder than what I have now. But when I hear these videos of NSXs with pride stuff they sound so good. Maybe I'll wait until a NSX meet and get a ride along with someone with a pride setup to really determine if I can live with it every day. (The NSX is my daily). Thanks again for the reply!

I need to get my ass out there an make an updated video since the Vtec issue was fixed long ago and the exhaust system is now well broken in. It will probably be in March when I can do a side by side comparison with a Comptech system that I'm picking up. Comptech is probably comparable to the old RM Racing and now Billy Boat Exhaust systems.

Headers and test pipes make a world of difference. Since this was recorded the system has mellowed out a bit and what little tinny sound is gone. Also the car is running at 100% without any vtech issues.

+Andrew Long If you're referring to the sound my car makes I have the resonated test pipes. The sound is not exactly what it sounds like when hearing it in person. The mic really doesn't do it justice. The muffler is also now broken in and has a slightly deeper tone to it.

Great sailing conditions! Reminds me of sailing in the Gulf of Maine on a 125' schooner. The sun was shining in a blue sky, but we had 25-30 knot winds and 8-10 ft. seas. Her lee rail was buried and we were doing 11 knots. It was fabulous! The Lynx is a beauty!
