I’m terrible at reading the cuts, troughs, and sand bars. I’ve purposely gone to a spot I would fish on peak low tide where it’s a negative tide. It gives you a visual you regularly can’t see and you try to match up holes and sand bars with land marks. The only other way I’ve figured it out is to wade out until I sink into a hole lol. I’ve tried it and it works. I’ll buy a pack of grubs and when I’m done using all the worms I pour the juice in the grub pack😄

@@goldfeverpete3693 I thought about it but didn’t do it because I tried soaking different plastics and they started to deteriorate but some are biodegradable 🤷🏾♂️. Might be worth a try though, I know that scent makes a huge difference!

I fished that pier last week and got a parking ticket 🤦🏾♂️ I have a parking pass, but I had no idea there was a Huntington state beach and Huntington city beach. Apparently my pass doesn't work at both of them

@@Stellarbaits the pass was definitely visible... But it's good to use at state parks, beaches and reservoirs. I looked it up after I got the ticket. It says Huntington state beach, so I'm assuming the city beach doesn't count... I just didn't know there was a difference... I thought they were the same beach

I fished from the beach south of the seal beach pier twice in the past week just before high tide and caught two halibut each day, all short. And a couple stingrays. ugh. Gonna try the river mouth tomorrow.

I agree that we should share the beach with surfers. However, I have to disagree with you that most surfers will not avoid a fisherman. Many will paddle out 10 feet away from me. Mind you, I am 3-5 football fields away from the main breaks.

I’ve had the surfers just as you mentioned but I’ve also had more of the surfers that tried to avoid the areas that I was fishing in if I was there first 🤷🏾♂️. However, most of my surf fishing is at beaches w/o surfers 😅

Nice fishing J rome I fished for these up in Washington State I always walk the beach and I look for the little dips in between the water where it's deeper like the little bowls and there's a lot of fish that hide up in those little areas where the water is deeper on the beach little peninsulas and the dips and bowls maybe try that next time for bigger fish.

No size limit. Just a bag/possession limit of 10 per person per day 👍🏻

@@ChhivLybun No size limit on barred surf perch and you can keep 10 per day in CA. Redtail surf perch are slightly similar but have a size limit of 10.5 inches.
