@@nahomynava-martinez9531 I use 30 pound braid and 15 pound test fluro-carbon leader. There’s paid and residential parking, whichever you’re more comfortable with.

@@Playersprosper no bro it’s rare, you might see a sign at some parks that shows the types of fish in the lake and fish sizes to keep but most regulations you can find on the department of fish & game website.

I went with a similar rig for the first time to try and catch some of these. I had no luck I think I need a bigger rod to cast farther and I want to get a smoother reel I notice you were reeling in a lot faster then me so I’ll try faster next time

@@prob6999 They’re actually right up on the surf so you don’t need to cast out far at all and you can’t go wrong using sand worms. A light set-up is more ideal for catching perch.

Catfish was the first fish I ate. Grew up in the Bronx, use to go to central park, use to catch blue gills and sunnies. Small , then use them to catch crawdads, bring home on the D train,in shoe box boil and eat, finally my mom took me upstate NY to lakes, we would fry in flour and eat with our eggs. Still eat to this day. Your videos bring back memories.

You will need a license at all shores fresh or salt. Unless there is a public pier or a jetty. The only exception is there is 2 days assigned by dfg as free fishing days. Also ensure you know what species are allowed to take. Size and bag limits. Have fun, fishing is addicting.

Nice video man. I was there with my two daughters, we got skunked. I will say I saw quite a few grown men straight up fishing, and not just casting for their kids. Dan Hernandez even called them out on the mic. Those dudes were bogarting that little point on the east side of the lake. 🤡😡

@ It’s delicious. You will like it. People pay top dollar for that. I remember when me and my sister were little, my dad would bring the trout he caught and fry up the roe still in the sack with butter and garlic and my sister and I would fight over it. It’s really good. You do have to fry it though. There is a way to eat it raw but you have to brine it with salt and I’m not sure how to do it. To be safe, any freshwater fish needs to be cooked. You can’t do freshwater sushi. It’s not the same as saltwater fish. If you eat freshwater fish raw you can get sick.
