Is there nothing to stop the Charging Handle being pulled back (by hand) far enough to open the Air Valve?

Yes there is something that stops the valve to be opened by breech slide while pulling back. There is a spring on the other side of valve. It is hard enough to stop the valve. It allows the valve to be opened only when hammer strikes it forcefully.

@@Ros-co If your question is about how long you can keep a gun loaded without firing, the answer is that it can remain loaded for many days, possibly up to a month. This is because the gas piston in a Nitro Piston gun operates differently from a traditional metallic spring. In spring-powered guns, keeping the spring compressed for too long can cause it to lose tension. However, Nitro Piston guns use nitrogen, and the pressurized condition of the gas doesn’t affect its ability to expand properly over time. That said, if your gun is old or the seals inside the Nitro Piston are weak, there’s a chance the gas might leak, which could affect its performance."

@@funnygastro651 the pressure in the Nitro Piston acts like a spring. Gas compression used as spring. But if you disassemble this Nitro Piston you would have to put the spring instead of that Nitro Piston.

When you push the barrel downward, doesn't it lock with sear? If so, please replace the sear.

@AirGunMech This is really well made with different data, I thirst thought it was all 3D data but then I spotted pictures (I think). Very educational since for most types of air guns you will not get a cross section.

Very good video. Animation showed perfect functioning but these guns can benefit from a hammer debouncing and/or a regulator. If that harmony between hammer and valve is not right the hammer bounce makes the gun loud and an air waster. The least that factory can do is put an o-ring under the valve stem.

Double piston can get you over 2200m/s.. not very efficient as to compressed air usage. and that's why it isn't done.
