@Omaromom1234 stick to the basics? Lol Bru, I been martial arts for 15 years now, I think I know what I'm doing. Lol And my hands are up. You just don't have the trained eyes to see it. You're probably so used to seeing boxers with their hands up in a boxers stance, but i'm using a Jeet Kune Do stance. And than you said punch straight. Lol Every punch I throw is straight because every punch in Kung Fu is from a straight line being that a straight line travels faster than a circle. You should focus on yourself, instead of trying to coach me. If I needed help with something, I would reach out but I would only reach out to people who are experienced and have enough knowledge to help me with what I'm doing. You're very misinformed, and don't know what you're talking about.

So I found his channel. People in the comments on different videos have also asked him about sparring. Every time he either ignores it or makes some long drawn out excuse as to way in all his years of so called training, he has absolutely no recorded real sparring of himself. This guy is full of crap and is gonna get one of these people hurt badly if they get into a real fight.

Looks good, I have a few suggestions to improve the lead punch: • the fist moving first then the body, makes it less telegraphic since people watch the body then the arms. • keeping the rear hand under the chin and when punching raise it to be under the eyes to protect the mid section and making it easier to protect the face. • after punching to retract the arm to keep from having a opening and not letting the arm drop down before and after punching. •having the lead arm resting on the body when not punching then holding out since that kinda tenses the shoulders muscles and restricts the explosive initial strike and having to rest on the body protects the side, in this position the forearm/fist should be facing the opponent to help with direct striking.

0:34 your mind and body won’t allow you to make such a contact. Fight or flight will dictate what you do in that situation. You may run. If the opponent is weak you may attack. ⚠️cause massive damage. You cannot grab the arm n try to play uncle because he can jerk or pull back ok. Your fingers will go flying. Trust me I’ve seen this tested under pressure. Try holding a magic marker. Now have your buddy try to take it from you or manhandle your arm to make you quit or get hurt. Hell be all marked up. Those would be slices too.

Fantastic.. try this.. in order to link a combo or keep your striking going without hitting him out if the area n having to enter again. Try this.. front hand finger jab like you did. Except, this time. Throw a cross punch immediately after. So a 1-2 finger jab then cross. Use the front hand as a simple back hander. Not a GUA CHOY back fist. Just the knuckles of the hand flat. On the nose.. this will link another back handed hit. The hook or NAO CHOY cross punch vertical fits perfectly. 💥🥊💯

Tip.. if you (depending on how you’re standing) use your front hand. Reach towards the closest eye. Just put your fingers in it. Don’t shoot it, don’t throw it. Just step in and place the fingers in the closest eye. The chin punch is right there. As you take your hand back, it becomes a FOOK SAO COVER. A flat cover wedge over his hand. Just by punching with a helping hand right below it. 🥊💯💥

And BTW, i've sparred with boxers and been follow boxing my whole life so there's nothing you or anyone else can tell me about boxing. I used to train with Durango The Kid in upstate NY back in the 90s and he was in the gym with Mike Tyson in the 80s. Not only that, when you're black and grow up in the hood, everyone is boxing, so that's something you're exposed to all he time.

@@pistolpaulie4871 no, if I was in a real fight with a hard aggressive fighter, I would use Jeet Kune Do because it's meant to deal with hard aggressive fighters because of the principles and simultaneous block and counter techniques but I also would use whatever works for the situation. Boxing is a good stand up art but it also has it's flaws. If boxing was the end all be all then you would see it dominating in Mix Martial Arts. And Mix Martial Arts is sport too , the streets is a whole different element because there are no rules and you have to train for the unknown and be ready for anything which is what most of my training consist of. Now I have done boxing before but it doesn't work as good as Jeet Kune Do and i'm basing this off my experience doing both. Another thing,Jeet Kune Do already has boxing in it's core although 90% of it is wing chun.

@@kennylopezjeetkunedo5555 I wasn’t talking about boxing in mma. I got jump by 3 guys outside a club in Miami. I knock 2 of them out and the last one took running. Latest conflict I had was with a idiot that try to proof his manhood to his girl outside a convenience store. He picked me out as I was leaving to my car. Got close to and swang. I docked and nail him the gut and he didn’t get up. With all the respect. I never had any problems in the streets with my wrestling and boxing. Trust me all that stuff your doing will all disappear the moment you get hit hard.
@kennylopezjeetkunedo5555
@kennylopezjeetkunedo5555 2 жыл бұрын
@@pistolpaulie4871 this is how I know you never trained or felt a true martial artist that knows his stuff for you to make comments like you're making. Before we even get into the streets, are you aware that Jeet Kune Do was developed for street fighting? Because the principles in Jeet Kune Do is economy of motion, simplicity, and directness. One of things that we train and a true Jeet Kune Do practitioner trains is not only keeping it simple but being as direct as possible.(In other words, not wasting time) This sparring demonstration has you very misinformed because I wouldn't fight this way using Jeet Kune Do techniques. This is why you can't base everything off sparring because in the streets, it's always gonna be hard attacks from your natural position, sparring helps you with your ranges, but that's about it. Sparring isn't a real fight. Most of the strikes and attacks that I use and I just explained in my last post this is why I know you don't what you're seeing or what i'm talking about, is quick non telegraphic strikes with precision, timing, and followed through. But the difference is, compared to boxing, boxers telegraph their strikes and punch from the shoulder, I know this because I trained boxing, where in Jeet Kune Do we throw what is called vertical fist with no telegraphed signs. It's not only more powerful when you strike, you can apply it with a straight punch and deflect their punch, plus you have more protection for your body since the elbows are when you release the punch, especially when someone goes low, and it's attacking their centerline which also is gonna create more damage because that moves a person back more, even when you shove them. Why you think boxers are vulnerable to the clinch? It's because of how they throw their punches. And this is why I know you never trained with someone that really knows the Jeet Kune Do system, or even a true wing chun practitioner. And don't bring up all these wing chun guys in china or other places getting beat up, there's a lot of those guys out there that don't know where they're doing. You can train in a style, but that don't mean you know how to use it especially if you don't pressure test it. I pressure to my techniques, so I know it works since i've put it to the test. Most of my videos are unrehearsed too btw. So it's individual behind the style, not the style itself. A style is like driving a car, it's gonna do when you make it do since you're in control of it. Another thing, hitting me hard, you have to get their first, so, someone who knows what they're doing isn't gonna just allow you to throw a sucker punch or overhand right without coming back with something or deflecting and hitting or just deflecting. You can knock the average joe out in the streets that don't know anything but it's huge difference when you try and attack someone that knows what he's doing, he's not gonna just allow you to do it, you have to try and get their. And you said you weren't talking about MMA...you're right, I was talking about MMA and I only brought that up because if boxing was the end all be all like you're promoting, than everyone would be going into MMA with just boxing, where as Jeet Kune is a striking, and grappling system, it's a complete system. A really good JEet Kune Do guy can go into MMA, but a boxer can't, unless he trains other things and most of the time they have to train grappling, or they'll get taken to th ground quick since all they train is punches and like I said, most of the punches they throw are flawed anyway. Start doing more research before you talk and talk to people who know what they're talking about. You're talking all the wrong people and you're misinformed about a lot of things.

It's never the style, it's the person behind the style. Bruce Lee kept Wing Chun as the base of Jeet Kune Do because he knew there was a time and place for it and because of the principles and techniques in it, it works against much physically stronger people. Bruce was a small guy, so he needed a style that could deal with much larger men, and Wing Chun provided a lot of those answers.

Good energy. Excellent pace. My own contributions would be: Don't go "looking " for the reference points. Discover them while punching. Trapping is a by-product of striking. If you applied this match, and tried to use it against a wooden dummy, it wouldn't work. As you hit, opponents block. In that moment, THERE'S that reference to work. An obstruction. Second notice would be: You're letting the other guy set the pace. Watch this same video as an outsider. Just count outloud each time he strikes. You'll observe how you go on the 2-3 second move. Try to go on 4-7 as well as on the 1(or even the 1/2 just before) Ron Balicki had said," There's Before, During and After. As well "BEFORE the Before " (Anticipation)and "AFTER the After" (Recovery) Think of it as 7 seconds for every engagement. Try to go on EVERY variation of the those moments. When your opponent's nervous or akward, when you see him reaching for your hands, you're on the right path. These leads towards my last observation. Try working your PIA. Progressive Indirect Attack. Find how to NOT engage his hands. Hit where he's hands simply AREN'T. (Dagger sparring is good for this) And if he does happen to block, flow back to point number one. NOW would be the time to trap/ hit/ move. With any luck, you'll keep this as part of your training. When in doubt, watch a good ol' Bruce Lee fight scene. It'll give you inspiration as well as ideas. Best of luck to you and your future. Your efforts are where the art goes next. So do it right, represent it well, and push where it goes. Thank you very much for sharing your time with us.

I don't usually comment on stuff, and get into the back and forth, especially when most of these guys who comment don't have videos of their own or know what they're talking about half the time. I'm a person that would rather show and do, than talk. But i'm gonna respond this 1 time. This was just a demo, not a video to show all my of Jeet Kune Do techniques, the 5 ways of attack, or other elements that I could of showed which I train all the time. Infact, I have another sparring video where I showed some of the 5 ways of attack on my channel. I called this demo Boxing vs JKD hands because I was basically showing that JKD hand techniques can work against boxing strikes if applied right, and that's why I didn't use any kicks or transitional takedowns from trapping or grappling. So this was just the hands. Another thing, this video was done years ago, since than i've added a lot of new wrinkles to my game and have evolved, but even at this time, like I said, there were a lot of things I could of done more, but that wasn't the point of this demonstration. The difference between my demonstrations and 95% of what you see on youtube, I actually have my partner attack me for real because that's the only way you're gonna show realism for what actually happens or whether it'll work or not. And the only way you can learn that is by pressure testing your art and that goes for any art. Too many people on the internet spend more time talking and telling others what they should be doing, instead of actually showing through action and honestly expressing themselves because that's the only way you can teach or tell someone something. But debating back and forth about things pertaining the whether a person art or technique will work or not is pointless unless you're in front of that person and showing them what you mean or posting videos of your own and illustrating your points. Everyone has an opinion, so I don't get caught up people's opinions. Now if a person can show me something useful through practicality, than i'm there to listen. But telling someone something, anybody can do that. You'll have 30 different people online that feel they're an expert and won't see any footage of them practicing their art.
