I live in Elk Grove Ca. I have a pink rock rose that blooms during the spring. It is now summer and each year it stops blooming. What am I doing wrong. I understand rock rose blooms all summer.

Hi, I came to the KZbin looking for this plant benefit as apparently it is the best plant for living a long healthy life. Please nourish it and you are very lucky to have that planted in your garden. Search up the good use of it and how to make a good healthy herbal tea. I live up in Scotland and not sure if it will live here as mostly wet weather but I’m trying to get some to grow them inside the house.

Did you know Cistus plants can spontaneously combust when its about 32 Celcius? It is on KZbin. But its also a very important and popular plant proven to have above average health benefits. Though used in home medicine. Which means its civil responsibility and to take care or it could run into problems. Things I am working on, as this is all raging mad but somehow things can't really go trough. Also someone from Texas below here responded. Odd that he or she didn't say anything.

It all looks fantastic! Love the cherry trees in your garden. I wouldn't have room for them as the branches arch so much. I do like the look of your tangerine plum tree. I'm very tempted to get that one. I'd love more fruit trees but the drooping branches put me off. I guess cordons could be the answer. 🤔. Could I prune the branches if they arch too much? Xx

Absolutely fantastic! Haven't you worked hard over the years. I loved it when the camera showed a full view of your garden. It's lovely to see the view from different aspects and also to see how big things are from a distance. Thanks for sharing. X

Hello from Leicestershire. I've found your lovely channel by pure accident. I'm New to trees and have bought just a few last year. I haven't a huge space so opted for a quince concorde pear advised by Charles Dowding , a step over scrumptious apple tree, a fig tree, a sour Stella cherry (I didn't check it was sour, which I'm not keen on but I'll keep it and see how it goes). I also bought a sunburst cherry from pomona fruits. It came as a decent size but was so bent. It grew really strange with no branches, just the main leader which carried on bending away from the sun as the season went on. I was so disappointed so lifted it and gave it away. Since watching this video I have now requested a catalogue and will definitely give pomona fruits another go again. Thank you for the fantastic inspiration. Your videos are lovely x

Can I grow sunburst in the Northern of England?
@thesmallenglishcountrygard70952 жыл бұрын
Hello, Thank you so much for your question. The problem with cherries in the north of England is that when they flower in mid April if it is too cold or windy the blossom will not set fruit and it may not be successful unless you have a very sheltered spot. I would say this is why commercial cherry production is mainly in Kent in the UK. I would try a variety like Summer Sun . This is a Norfolk self-fertile variety with deep-red fruit, suited to a colder climate. Good luck!

@@thesmallenglishcountrygard7095 Thank you. I have planted my sunburst today and if it does not grow well, I'm going to try to grow summer sun cherry. Thank you very much for your advice.

@@thesmallenglishcountrygard7095 Thank you for your quick reply! I will probably purchase a bunch to put in our garden here in Scotland. They do look lovely, and if the fruits are sweet, that is perfect. I'll see what else the nursery you recommended has. Have a lovely evening!

What a delightful video Thank you so much for showing us your beautiful garden. I bought a dwarf Stella in 2020, I had 3 cherries:) but had to prune it into an open vase shape as I had many crossing branches I was wondering how to avoid the leaf curl and aphid infestation next year, any suggestions? thank you very much

I've planted an M106 rootstock a few months back. It now has mosaic virus I think. Really upset. Would this have been sold to me infected or was it picked up in my garden? I live in South Wales UK. Many thanks 👍

It’s amazing how a plants life cycle is defined buy climates. I was amazed to find that pepper plants and tomato’s can survive for years and multiple harvests if grown indoors with grow lights and a water hookup. I have not grown any flowers but since my wife appreciates them I’m contemplating expanding the basement green house. Currently the only plant I grow that I don’t eat is mint. I love to smell of my green house ! Perhaps mint tea will join the menu…

I also need to say… get a 5 gallon bucket, cut a 2 inch hole in the top, fill the bucket with water and hydroponic fertilizer ( optional ) take a cotton tee shirt and run it through the line hole as a “water wick” then you simply place a 5 gallon grow bag with potting soil and fertilizer ( optional ) on top of the wicked bucket. LED grow lights are cheep and effective. Bring some of that beautiful garden inside :-)

I respectfully agree. I’m retired and we were snowed in for a week this year with no mains. Nothing lifted my spirits more then retreating to my diy greenhouse in my basement. I energized all my grow lights ( solar powered ), and lay down in my lawn chair, daydreaming I was at the beach. As we get older we have to build our personal retreats. Especially in these crazy times..

Hola ! I intend to grow lettuce in my basement, here in Virginia summers are very hot and humid. The basement is always cool, so it should work great ! My question is can one forage the leaves and expect them to regrow ? My goal is to have a fresh Salad daily, perpetually.. have you experienced a regrow after foraging ? Thanks for your video…
@thesmallenglishcountrygard70952 жыл бұрын
Yes that sounds like a great plan to me. You should find that the more you pick the more leaves grow and keep a steady supply coming. I pick from the outside in and this helps. Good luck and thank you for your really kind interest in my videos.

Do you get much trouble from the birds?
@thesmallenglishcountrygard70952 жыл бұрын
Yes they are very much in evidence when the tree is in production, but it is so prolific that we tend to allow them to feast on the upper branches. You just need to be up early to pick them each day!

Gerberas must be extremely hardy because I have had one in a tiny, tiny plastic pot, horribly rootbound, on a concrete driveway for over a year, and through a Western Australian summer and it hasn't died! Over the summer it would wilt in the extreme heat, and I mean totally collapse, but then I'd water it and up it'd come again! So, as a reward, today I repotted it into a bigger pot. This was my late mother's gerbera and was originally in her nursing home room because gerberas are one of the plants that don't cause allergies in indoor places with lots of pollen etc, so nursing homes like them. I'm wanting to get more, now!
