Honestly I'm surprised McFarlane toys hasn't done a truly classic spawn like this or even a movie spawn wave in his 7 inch scale outside that god aweful kick starter he did years ago!

he could have bought some CT toys mafex clones and build on those as the base figure. Spawn is just black suit spiderman with Dr stranges cape.

I don’t think it’s really a top coat issue as much as a paint process or material issue. The material in the particular resin might not be great for paint. Or they may not have been cleaned well and may have a slight residue keeping the paint from sticking. It could also just be cheap acrylic paints that don’t really stick to anything. The joints could probably be tightened with some work, but it sill would be a frustrating thing to have to do.

For 300 dollars, it has the quality of a 15 dollar figure from CT toys

Anything goes well... untill you use the green stuff... you could use white plastic pieces or white thin rubber to make the M, i make customs too and yeah! I hate the paint rub, and use real red leather for the cape and for the belts around rhe body... im working in a 12 inch spawn figure with some of this things that i mentioned, im thinking to use real spike studs too. so Good work!.

To your point about fully 3D printed figures- I once paid a seller on Etsy 300 dollars for a custom printed figure from Jet Set Radio Future. Looked really nice in the photos, waited a couple months to receive which wasnt too bad. However it arrived with pieces snapped off in the package and the seller did not seem to care beyond advising me to super glue them back on. It then fell apart in my hands as i held it to super glue the parts. I even had one of the skates liquify on my desk, which the seller also did not care about. Terrible experience, waste of money. So i feel your pain on this, and as advice for fellow collectors- do not purchase fully 3D printed figures, ever, for any reason

I bought thier peni Parker figure a while ago and it arrived defective, the right arm does not hold the other hands at all, what a waste of $200 and the figure was very promising too

love this figure, my only complain is the single jointed knees and that I wish the hook thing was a bendy wire,other than that I won't be needing other mandos for a while

My man, paint chipping is an understatement. What an odd figure, it reminds me of the very juvenile customs kids try to sell on Mercari for $400 dollars.

Bro has never heard of clear coat I just work with basic Walmart acrylic paint and some rustoleum clear matte finish and I’ve never had paint chipping 😭

This is fantastic. Only Spawn figure I've loved and have is the MK11 Spawn with the sword. One of the better ones out there and then bought the same company wired cape with chains as well.
