What supurb quality! These quite young musicians inspire all of us. What a joy they must be for their parents! And what do they promise? How fortunate we are. Prokfiev is smiling.

1001 strings Romantic Bach? Wrong way to play? No!! Bach always works well in transcription, revealing new aspects of this universal composer.

There is a 200 year history of people saying "you played Bach the wrong way!" But this cannot be true, as Bach interpretation changes markedly , every 10 or 20 years!

One of best Larghetti ever rendered! The quotation of Beethoven at 6:08, the hauntingly repeated suspension of a minor 7th at 6:19, the unsettling beauty in the harmonic progression at 7:05 and the ordered confusion launched at 7:20 are all utterly perfect.

I don’t know why but in general Russian composers specifically Rachmaninov l am addicted to. Russian composers have a distinctively different taste , feel and emotion and soul. As a Cypriot maybe it’s because of we belong more to a eastern culture than western

Complimenti a KZbin: interrompere un concerto (splendido, tra l'altro) di musica classica con degli spot pubblicitari è di una cafonaggine e maleducazione unica!

His great father Neeme preferred and performed this version, so I guess young Kristijan obviously fell in love, as we all are now, in his (and his father's) 1945 rendition of Stavinski's magical music. My guess is that he absorbed it so thoroughly in his youth that he knows even every accidental drop of the ink in the score, let alone decades long history of his father's and his own markings on the score. With all that said this performance is a miracle of beauty - of musical and non-musical beauty. It is surely a historical performance, a testament to the art of Baltic Sea Philharmonic and its great conductor Kristjan Järvi.
