I think the islands generally mark the boundary between the River Severn & the Bristol Chanel but it depends if you are talking to a mariner an aviator or a landlubber!

Hi. The problem was that I hadn't found the "sweet" position for the cyclic at this particular point in the spool up to keep the brief vibration to a minimum as I wasn't used to the heli. All fine now though with only a couple of minor snag-fixes in the last 9 years!

Awesome had a problem last week upon starting the engines at 40% n1, seems like the chopper had this max vibration. It was so bad that i dont want to finish the whole start up cuz of the vibration. Checked the whole chopper for 3 weeks found out the weights for static were put on the heavy blade instead of the light blade. Good thing it's okay now.

Excellent. Glad it's sorted. The only other issues we had were a dimly-glowing main rotor gearbox chip light at about 250 hours which turned out to be a minor electrical issue in the CWP panel and a copilot headset lemo plug not providing power for the noise cancelling. I think that these have all been ironed out in later machines. Ours is an early one from 2012.

Just curious to know whether you saw the flag the next time you passed the island. And if so, should it now be named "Pill Sharks Island" after the person whose flag made a claim to its territory ;)

AerialExplorer I'll be sailing around the island tomorrow so I'll check if the flag is still there, I'll be very surprised if it is at it was 5 or so years ago now! I spent 5 days and nights with a mate in some of the worse weather in years, also it was January and the only cover we had was a 10ft overturn fibreglass boat! We did it for charity
