Both Wolf and Nur were completely fresh, Tear, Hocker (imo the only other guys who’d be fighting for that 3rd spot bc Kincade can’t hang with fast paces) both had all those 1500 rounds in their legs, as well as Fisher with his 10k W. And he still needs to get that notorious Olympic standard bc there’s a 0% his world rank get him in

@@DavidGarcia-h5l it is nice to be able to go from 4000 to 8000+ within a one hour drive. Good for recovery purposes. The main reason everyone goes to NAU is similar with the altitude differences within a close drive, but also that the facilities are more suited for world class runners to train than most in the country

Cole was tired from a 3:34, 3:37, 3:30, and a 53 last lap in his 5000 heat. I can understand him not being able to go with the quicker pace . No shame though, if anyone is up for consideration for an Olympic medal in the 1500 outside of Ker/Jakob its Cole (respectfully to Neguse, Cole’s got more experience and clearly a better kick off a hot pace and Kessler hasn’t made a outdoor world team, let alone made a final)
@karthick18
@karthick18 3 ай бұрын
@@blainejohnson9954 Kessler is looking dangerous with the 800 double. 1:43 is crazy. He will be strong too. Honestly, I expected more out of Cole especially seeing how easy he made it look in the 5000 heat as well. But he wasn't able to respond to Fisher's early move which was very much expected seeing how he ran the 10k. No way Cole was expecting a sit and kick race. He wasn't even in contention in this race. Weird.

@@karthick18 I think the surging tactics was the key to beating him, making it a ‘strength’ rather than ‘speed’ race. Once the two guys broke away, Hocker knew he didn’t have it in his legs to respond and so smartly didn’t push and risk injury.
