I lived for 5 years and know a lot of locals that been here over 25 years and all honesty the locals not the working locals but the rich locals they are just rude snobs simple as that worthless people

Why on EARTH do people video themselves front and center like they're newscasters or something? Their "audience" is basically those they know, wherever they're from and guess what, "star seekers"? NO ONE cares to look at your pusses up close while you're visiting a location they'd much rather view? Get OVER yourselves and get the HELL out of the WAY!!!

Interesting. We live in Key West from January through March. The no see ems must be an issue although I never get bit, but my wife complains about bug bites. I have never noticed an issue with Mosquitos. Maybe it is a difference between where we live and Rodys live. I experience more Mosquitos in the suburbs of Chicago during the summer than Key West. I know Key West sprays a lot to keep the Mosquitos down. Leaf blowers are annoying, but only experienced the noise issue. Although we did experience more people using electric blowers which brings the noise down big time. The world needs to change to battery electric. Not only quieter, but cheaper and of course better for climate. Never experienced issue with cruise passengers.

We used to go to Key West several times a year. Everything you said is true nice place to visit wouldn’t want to live there. One thing you didn’t mention I had two daughters that were about 10 years old and we were in the Pizza Hut at Key West and there was a couple of dudes, deep throating each other right behind us so embarrassing they should’ve kept their kissing in private not at Pizza Hut

Good question - the motivation for this channel was to share our adventures with family and friends, and a small group of strangers who may benefit from the information. On a small island that’s only 4 miles wide, and a small community, I don’t want to be “famous”. We appreciate our privacy. So for that reason, we took down the video that went viral.

I live and have lived in key west for over 35 yrs. I hate golf carts and cruise ship mobs. But most of all I hate the TDC for advertising Key West everywhere. We just want to be left alone…

I was in in Key West about a month ago. On my walk back to my hotel one Friday night at about 10pm , I saw a mini party bus parked by the Clinton Square Market and this group of girls between 18 and 21 obviously partying along with a couple who appeared to be the parents on one of them. 2 of those girls get out of the bus and squat right there on the side walk and relieve themselves!!!!!!! I was was so shocked and turned around and shout at them saying the public toilets were just behind that building no more then 30 feet away and they didn't care! In fact they started yelling at me some cuss words etc. Ya'll , these folks didn't give a flip about peeing there and also with so many people walking by. I told the bus driver and he goes "oh, ok"! Disgusting behaviour !!!!!!!!! I also saw this overweight drunk tourist sitting on the steps to one of those stores on Duval and unwrapping the bandages on his legs and setting those bandages on those steps and his legs were oozing fluids and blood, it was so disgusting to have all that biohazard stuff right there with people, kids, pets all walking around there. I called the police and the ambulance was subsequently called and he was taken away to get medical help. Beautiful Keys are all ruined by tourists and some callous locals ( crooked officials ).

I was a curse ship guy. Ended up getting cool with a few people there, met up with them a few times. They lived on Charles St.

The city requires a busking permit and insurance to busk on the street. You can apply for the permit through city hall.

After living there for 4 years in the late 90's to late 2001, my #1 worst about Key West is Key West. There is nothing good about living there. Rent is outrages, pay is ridiculous, locals are rude, tourists are annoying, and you work your butt off to pay for everything.

Not sure where in Key West you guys live or if you run a snorkle charter on a Cat or something from or near Mallory Square but I would think locals (although you guys only transplanted to the lKeys recently at the time of this posting...Drunks are usually going to be around old town, Duval.... As far as the Mosquitoes...that isn't just a Key West thing, that is a Southern thing...Although the air does become stagnant there at times...meaning, not blowing around....There are enough spontaneous showers and air flow to keep the mosquitoes somewhat under control...However, on the days when they can prep for a Direct Action Mission...Yeah, you will be targeted and they are relentless, most are smaller than a blad eagle (barely) and they will leave welps on you.... with the 5 minute downburst causing the entire area become an instant Sauna also sux...and of course, standing water everywhere is the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes...Well hopefully, the Leaf Blower beighbors have their blowers out of their arse and stop trying to out do the other guy or blowing crap back and forth and anyone walking or driving by are used as human shields...used to work until both people decided their ROE did not address collotaral damage as it relates to innocent civilians...resulting in you guys and others caught in the cross-fire...THAT SUX... Such a small price to pay to be able to go to the BULL's Garden of Eden (joking...it's actually disgusting) during Fantasy Fest....every once in awhile I enjoy just chilling, grabbing an front row seat at Fat Tuesday's on occassion and people watch....Past few years there have been more and more groups that use to never visit...I would have zero issue or not mention if not for the fact that wherever more than 2 are located...BS is almost certain to break out ....kinda like during Spring Breaks for college kids...the girls lose all inhibition and the guys think they are existing in some movie always trying to puff themselves up and sport the attitude....especially when they have no clue who they are talking to or any person's background I just think to myself...if this preppy loud mouth arrogant pr*ck doesn't leave a few young ladies alone or the guy she is with who is 5 times smaller than him...can tell the loud mouth preppy guy thinking he is impressing people has no idea how absolutely moronic he is acting....worse yet, he has no idea how close he came to being left on the nasty arse sticky floor by someone twice his age at least...and he would never see it coming...it is those guys and type people that irk me (by the way, the 1st group I was referring to it's usually the women or whatever they are...wearing outfits no one their size should be wearing...cottage cheese warning is issued....but talk about attitudes, entitlements and always think they are better than others kills me...I'm thinking, why can't they chill...and why are they even here...

I would think that some of the other areas north of Key West might be more enjoyable and not have the cruise ships and all of the rude locals and drunks and maybe less bugs, but you can get bug killers for your house! Key West is still very beautiful place to visit!

No matter where you go there will be likes and dis likes ' each couple , or person or family will have to try Key West Florida to see if they like or enjoy it that is the only way to find out via boots on the ground.

Mosquitos are not bad. Live in areas they do not spray, that is not fun. Live in Maine in the wilderness or maybe in the Florida Everglades, not fun as well. Key West is luxury spot to not get bitten, I have been there almost 100 times. Also, been in south Florida 20 years, had one Cat 3 and one Cat 4. The chance over 20 years is .003% getting hit based on that. And that is all of south Florida, west and east coast. I know insurance companies like to talk how bad it is, and also social media will spin it like it your living in a very high risk area. But no, it really isn't. It does however is not good when you get a bad hurricane, but people survive.

I just got back from a week in Key West, and the first thing I said was "The City needs to BAN leaf blowers." I could not enjoy a couple days of my trip because of the incessant noise. STOP.

Grew up in Key West, a 5th generation Conch, and my #1 for worst things about living in Key West was some greedy locals and rich ppl from up North taking over the island, telling Conch families if we didn't like the way things were changing (making it a tourist town for the rich and drunk with prices rising so high made it impossible for Conchs to live in Key West)that they didn't want families there anyway, so we should move to the main land... a letter from the editor of a local newspaper was actually printed in the newspaper telling us to leave about 20-25 yrs ago. Sadly, greed won which is why you won't meet many true Conchs (people's whose ancestors were apart of those back in the 1800's to build Key West) living in Key West anymore. It USE to be a beautiful family island with no cruise ships or rude/drunk rich tourists all year long (nor noisy/messy roosters/chickens) and affordable living for those that worked on the island. Y'all will never know what an amazing beautiful place Key West use to be when it was mostly Conchs on the island.

So true,I was TOLD during bike week motorcycle,s....we had gone down to Capt Tony's to relax and talk to him about nothing when he was mayor 😳😁..he would always let us bring my 3 year old daughter inhe would carry her around like a grandpa... some idiot told him Key West Florida was no place for kid's. Yep you are so right it WAS a great place to live. You remember when the locals were going to try to block the road up above 18 mile stretch and make it the Couch Republic 😲👍👍

Yeah I noticed there was a problem with housing for the "worker bees" in key west. Most, if not all have more than one job just to afford to live. The city should've taken notice and built affordable housing somewhere just for the local workers IMO. Otherwise, who's gonna serve all those wealthy people their food and drinks, if the locals can't afford to live there anylonger?

My family moved out when I was a kid...although I went back often it seemed the entire island...even away from the touristry traps started becoming overbearing especially by those who have no clue or respect for the tradition, the culture or the original people...they did make it their own and it seemed so many wanted to force change, etc to fit the narratives of areas they left due to the same thing is disgusting YOU ARE 100% ON POINT!!! It's sad...

We run a bug zapper Flowtron UV mosquito attractant lamp 24 hrs a day here in NE Florida, its killed thousands of bugs. We wouldn't be without it.

Every time someone tipped me it gave me an energy boost to keep playing. I played a few hundred hours so far out there on the street and it has been mostly a terrific experience, with a few experiences I could have lived without lol.

And just want to say I enjoyed watching your video one thing I enjoyed about it is all the five things you mentioned is like what I see up here in Wisconsin timeout drunk drivers rude people and billions I'm talking billions of mosquitoes wanting to eat you alive and when I was down in key West anywhere from the panhandle down to key West I've never seen one mosquito and I literally stayed in Weston Florida right across from the Everglades and still never got bitten so I would have to go down there again to check things out but I never got bitten by mosquitoes rude people come to Wisconsin they are rude and mean in Wisconsin they like to get drunk pretty soon I'm coming back to key West it's a lot of fun down there in key West see you soon

I’m from Minnesota and the mosquitoes are way worse there than in Florida. I’ve lived in Tampa area, and Ocala. And spend a month every year in key west. Barley ever get bit in Florida, even at night I’m fine. Minnesota in the summer you will get eaten alive in the summer after sundown. I’m sure Wisconsin is the same from what I remember going to the the Dells and the spooner river when I was younger. I’ll never go back north. I hate the cold and snow with a passion.
