It had tough competition that year with Star Trek III, The Terminator and especially Starman. But The Brother From Another Planet has a serenity that can quite successfully benefit such a sci-fi film.

Just to put it out there, those girls in the bus all looked 20. The blond lead actress Joyce Taylor was born in 1937 and the movie came out in 1963, so no actual underage hanky-panky. Themes of this era often portrayed young wanton school girls, check out Lolita if you want to get all bothered about Hollywood fiction.
