I had the privilege of watching Jonathan as the support act for The Cult at The Roundhouse this week. Arriving early as I always attempt to do at every gig I attend, my partner and I found ourselves a few rows back and centre stage. I was bemused and intrigued by the willowy, head dressed figure seemingly floating whilst preparing the stage, lighting incense sticks. It transpired that this ‘stage hand’ was the support act. My bewilderment very quickly turned to amazement and awe as I became transfixed by Jonathan’s performance and being surrounded by a lot of ‘rockers, ravers, lovers and sinners’, I am certain I was not the only one mesmerised by this enigmatic performer. My partner, who is a ballet and contemporary dancer was extremely appreciative of his graceful performance. The experience of watching Jonathan has had something of a profound effect upon me and proves my point of arriving at a show early enough to catch the support. Thank you Jonathan and Thank you Ian and Billy.

I feel the same way. I was at the wolverhampton show. I can't believe I was willing to be late to miss the support (I didn't even look who it was). Thankfully we weren't late and yes, I saw this person messing around on stage and was equally intrigued. I was awestruck. He's been on my playlist ever since and I've been sending this particular video to friends of mine. What's incredibly sad and I'll share is that a dear friend of mine (who looked quite similar to Jonathan Hulten in this video) died last year suddenly and I think how much he would have really appreciated this musician. I'll be following his work closely and looking forward to seeing him live again when the opportunity arises

Why does he simultaneously look like he could take your soul.....or save it? I'll accept either at this point as long as his music is wherever I am.

Me too, well, we saw him in Wolves. He's been on my car playlist all day, and he takes my breath away. I love Dead Can Dance, but Jonathan really has a special, unique energy I can't put my finger on. His vocal range too!! He's now one of my all-time favorites. I'll stop fan girling now.

It's like John Frusciante and Kate Bush had a baby, and that baby grew up listening to English folk music.

This is lovely. Everything about it. Appeals to my aesthetic tastes but also to that strong pull towards folk song and forest that's common to many of us. I love that we have more and more artists from metal, folk, and beyond creating music from their hearts. 🖤

Saw Jonathan live supporting The Cult in Manchester, absolutely blew me away with stage presence and vocals. Purchased both vinyl albums and pre-ordered the new one. Being a worshiper of nature and animals this music resonates with me hugely. In a world of bland music this is beautiful. Thanks 🙏🌲🌍🐶🐰🐇🐑🕊️🐒🐄🐀🐞🐝🌛🌈

Years ago I listened to this and liked it but marked it off as another edgy tune. Today I am going through a bad breakup and just listened to this and realized then I had no depth of understanding of how profound these lyrics are.

Carrying the moonlight while dancing in the sun has become my absolute favourite lyrics line of all time. Especially in combination or in comparison with the "original" lyrics - it describes for me in such a poetic way a state that I cannot describe myself, but which I feel is the balance and acceptance that is most likely to make me feel at peace.

I don't know whether you'll ever see this or not, but thank you so much for this beautiful song. I made the decision last night to cut my dad and stepmother out of my life for good and I'm hurting really badly right now but listening to this is helping me to accept that I'll be better off without them.
