Hi! I always wanted to create an arc in SimPHY defined by the radius of its circle and its angle, to create some trajectories and study the movements, is it possible? if yes, how? I'm a beginner in this software and I really enjoy it
@simphy31412 күн бұрын
There is a curve tool (Curve from Points) in bodies toolbar that might serve your purpose. Tick the Curve checkbox, then you can create circular curve by parametric equation.

Are you sure about half of energy changed to heat? It seems enormous
@simphy314Ай бұрын
For RC circuit conected to DC battery, heat released is half the work done by battery (provided capacitor is initially uncharged).
@AK-vx4dyАй бұрын
@simphy314 I see the equation but my brain can comprehend this 🤯
@TekCroachАй бұрын
@@simphy314 It is still a riddle. For lack of a real reason, we seem to attribute the lost energy to heat.
@simphy314Ай бұрын
@@TekCroach For mathematical reasons, you will have to solve for RC circuit and you will find that energy lost is independent of R. For an intuitive idea, we may assume that electrons accelerated by battery when collide/deposit on metal plate, lose some of their Kinetic Energy. If there were resistor, the loss would have occured at resistor itself.
@TekCroachАй бұрын
@@simphy314 however, you can’t mathematically prove it. When you try to solve it mathematically, you’re left with an impossible answer. Then we kind of hypothesize one half is lost for something. It’s like the uncertainty principle in quantum physics. Haha.

nice video... do you know an electrical analogy to Coulombs' Friction force k sign(x') ?
@simphy314Ай бұрын
constant friction means constant potential difference, which is always opposite to current. We can use Zener diode in reverse bias mode in breakdown state as an analogy to coulombic friction R = μ N.
@pchaayeshanaik1922Ай бұрын
Hey I enjoyed your video nice explanation.But i think friction would be a perfect real world resistor equivalent than air drag, correct me if I am wrong.

When I took Acoustics with Professor Bose (yeah, that Bose), we used an ideal dashpot as a resistor, a shock-absorber-like object. 6.312 if you want to look up the class.
@simphy314Ай бұрын
No, friction between solids does not depend on speed, while we are looking for speed dependent friction, here speed is analogus to current and drop iR is analogus to air drag bv.

Does the square accelerate for ever or there's a limit for velocity (no air resistance or friction)
@simphy3142 ай бұрын
Ideally, it accelerates forever. But in Simphy, we have a boundary within which all the interactions happen. So the block becomes inactive (or stops) as soon as it crosses the World bounds.

In first experiment, both bodies experience air drag(both bodies have to push the air beneath them to move down) and because paper has less mass, its gravitational force is less so it is not able to overcome air drag as efficiently as the booklet. In next experiment only booklet experiences air drag and not the sheet, so the sheet falls freely. If we do first experiment in vacuum, we may see that both bodies fall at same speed (faster than in air) because no air is there to slow them down. Thus this becomes an exmaple of freefall where mass is not related to time taken in falling. Just the initial velocity, height and acceleration acting on body.

I'm using SimPhy occasionally. What I would like to have, is some tutorials which explain in detail how it works. There are some videos in youtube, but I think that you should provide a structured course in order to understand in more details the functions and the capabilities of the software

What kind of feedback does your simulator provide? Can I see the rocket's trajectory in real time? Can I get detailed information about the rocket's altitude, velocity, and acceleration? And , What types of rockets can I simulate with your software? Can I simulate both single-stage and multi-stage rockets? Can I customize the rocket's design, such as the size and shape of the fuel tanks and engines?

My hypothesis: the atoms on the heating side expand and on the other side the atoms remain the same. therefore, it feels like the metallic strip has bent (this also happens in sunflowers with the help of the hormone "Auxin"). Also, after the strip is cooled the atoms, it nullifies the heating effect and the atoms contract again to normal shape.
