Wow, this is a great demonstration because of how clear the video is. It is much more complex than I would have expected and I’m guessing a lot of people who don’t knit would be saying “never mind” right about now 😂 I was hoping it would close the hole without showing the thread I want to use much, since it’s not a perfect match, but if you do have matching yarn, this looks really great! The latch hook has me thinking about upgrading from a crochet hook just for normal oops fixing, too!

SunnyTV, have you managed to find a formula for how wide the loops of yarn on the left side of the hole will need to be, so that there will be neither too much nor too little yarn to make the new rows of pulled-up stitches? I’ve guessed at it, but have got it wrong both ways! Do you count the stitches at the bottom of the hole, then measure a width across the knitted fabric of double that number, or something like that? It would be very helpful to know how you get it to work out just right. Many thanks 🙂

hi! I always appreciate your videos! If you don't mind, I have a question. I left a finger-sized amount of thread from the first stitch. I'm curious about how you did the final finishing. In particular, I'd like to know what the back of the hole in the fabric looks like. Do you cut the original damaged part with scissors after the stitching is complete? Or do you glue it with a steam iron using repair tape on the back of the damaged part?
