I love this plant! It is beautiful, like a gardenia, but without all of the trouble. The sweet scent is so mild, you have to stick your nose in a fresh blossom, but the overall beauty and ease of the plant is worth the delicacy of the aroma. To answer the other commenter, most parts of the milkwood genus are toxic, but it’s easy… don’t eat it, haha. It grows well for me in the morning sun, part shade in New Orleans, zone, 9B. It will die back to the ground in a hard freeze, but slowly re-emerge in the spring. Wonderful glossy deep green woody shrub.

That is NOT Cochliasanthus caracalla. That's "Phaseolus giganteus", a species invasive to Americas. C. caracalla's flowers have a gradient from yellow to purple and curl much more excessively than this in the video

I'm in Florida and have 1 rollinia tree, it's flowering second time this year. It held unto 1 fruit 2 months ago but was damaged by ants. I've been trying to airlayer twice this summer. After 45 days the airlayer only made a large callus but no visible roots. It's been very hot this summer . Its always has new growth and leaves, so I made another airlayer site. It's slightly cooler 88-90 during daytime and 77 nite. Will it airlayer or maybe I am impatient. Let know if u can help??? Thanks

I recently visited Borneo and had a chance to try this amazing fruit. I kept the seeds after eating the fruit Since I m totally new to cultivating plants/trees, I did some reading on 'hardening zones'. Looks like I got no chance growing this tree here in Germany where I live at the moment But I do have friends in Greece. It's hot there, plenty of sun, not so much humid. But its the best chance that I ve got Do you know how can I store/preserve the seeds so that I have the best chance of growing something out of them? Its been a week since I extracted the seeds and so far I stored them in a small plastic bag, which is probably not ideal There will still be some sunshine in Greece, but I wonder if I ll have best chances if I make the attempt next Spring (in approx 7 months)
