Always love your Christmas cars, especially the ones that have the Christmas message. Will you ever do a Christmas tank car?
@KadeeQualityProducts8 күн бұрын
Thanks for the kind words! We love to hear that folks like you enjoy our Christmas cars. As for a tank car - I'll make sure to pass this suggestion on to the team.

Thanks to the earlier posters for their comments and links to interesting info. I think it plausible that Copper Range cars may have carried copper ingots to manufacturers of brass items in northwestern Connecticut. Michigan's Upper Peninsula is a good deal closer to New England than other copper producing areas such as western Montana and part of Arizona.

Really nice looking car. Where was the Copper Range RR and what products did they haul in these cars?
@KadeeQualityProductsАй бұрын
Hey there, @rogerhuber3113. From Wikipedia: "The Copper Range Railroad (reporting marks CR, COPR) was a former U.S. Class I railroad that operated from 1899 to 1972 in the western Upper Peninsula of the state of Michigan." There's even more great information on the Copper Range in this article too: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_Range_Railroad

I love all your products and have used them for years except the "O"n3 plastic couplers. as they age the knuckles brake under heavy train loads. Can't they be made of metal? Thanks for all the good products you make.
@riogrande57617 ай бұрын
Speaking of washers, I've been working on coupler conversions and adjustments on BLMA and Atlas HO TOFC 89' flatcars, which have metal underbodies. They need adjusted up to match the Kadee height gauge, but the Kadee fiber washers hole is too small to fit over the lip, even when reamed out. I'm stuck right now. I'm looking for alternate fiber washers with similar thicknesses but a bit larger, mainly with a larger hole, that will fit over a number of models I have that won't accept the good old Kadee fiber washers. They worked great on the older Athearn kits, but newer models, many which are RTR, they simply won't fit. The hole is too small. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
@KadeeQualityProducts7 ай бұрын
@riogrande5761 Sadly, we don't offer any fiber washers in other I.D. or O.D. since the demand hasn't been there for it. One alternative could be for you to source them from a washer supplier, or try your hand at making custom washers via a punch or careful cutting.

Can your boxcars, hopper cars and tank cars be ordered with your sprung metal trucks?
@KadeeQualityProducts7 ай бұрын
@tulyar1043 While all of our RTR cars only come pre-assembled with HGC trucks, all of our cars can accept any of our HO Scale trucks as a direct swap if you choose to make the modification. An exception to this would be if someone (a hobby club, for example) were to order a large quantity custom-run with a specific truck package.
@andrewreynolds5997 ай бұрын
Thanks for this suggestion on stabilizing the coupler. Not only is it doing that, but you can "lower" the coupling mechanism for a better fit to the coupler gauge, allowing better connections to other cars on your layout.

Very helpful but I have a problem with older cars that I got on ebay. They aren't knuckle couplers but the other kind. So I bought a couple of packs of KD 148 but now realize that I can't remove the couplers because the trucks have no screws. The only work around I can think of is a dedicated car (boxcar for instance) that has a KD coupler to hitch to the engine and the other end of the car has the non-KD coupler. Then I can add the rest of the boxcars I bought. Does that make sense or is there something else I can do? Thanks, good explanation on the couplers!

You should look your cars up in the coupler conversion guide on Kadee website to know what coupler to use on the cars. If you have a specific question you should email it to us and I can better answer your question.

I have a couple of these. One is road #4475 with dull red (brown?) roof and ends matching the car color, and another with road #1001 with silver roof/black ends (that one was 'aged' by the previous owner). No idea of manufacturer I purchased them seperately at model train shows. They appear to be of high quality with metal wheels and good couplers and good detail. Glad to see a model train manufacturer producing model examples of this rather obscure local short line railroad.

Can we please get another 11,000 gallon tank car? Preferably a Diamond Shamrock/Diamond Chemicals or Diamond Alkali. There are options for paint that haven’t been done by other manufacturers. Please!!! I’d buy a bunch of them. So would a bunch of my modeling friends from North East Ohio where the “mothership” Diamond plant was.

I'm a newbie. Why not recommend the Kadee product (Kadee 211 HO Scale Styrene Gearbox Shims .010in & .015in )? I have a problem with the uncoupling of a Kato HO P-42 Loco which is lower than my Bachmann Amtrak Dome car coupler. Both are #158. This is my only uncouplng issue. Wiil a slim help? And if so what inch. Can I use a #158 and a #142 coupler to reach the proper coupler height? In your next video please use a before and after view of a drooping or sagging coupler so people like me can know they have a problem. A response would be appreciated .
