20:00 - the minute where Zoe realises just exactly where her heart lies. Between episode 32 when Connie arrives and when Zoe passes the torch to her, you can see a power struggle between the two characters. It becomes gradually obvious that Zoe is struggling in the role - it’s not why she came into medicine - meanwhile you have a Holby City/Casualty legend enter the scene and really want to make positive change - a character who unlike Zoe, DOES enjoy the politics which is needed in the role of clinical lead. The moment Zoe realises where her heart lies and what needs to happen to make her happy again happens when she asks to have Connie meet her upstairs, and when the 3 of them are in the office, you can see the torch gradually get passed to who potentially was the correct person to lead the department. How many times did Zoe get pulled up on the politics, leading the department prior to this and it wasn’t where her heart lied - after all, she inherited the role, she didn’t WANT it. One thing I love in this video is when Connie persuades Guy to keep Zoe as one of the best consultants in the ED. When Zoe walks out of the hospital, you can see the smile on her face - she knows she did the right thing leaving the role and passing the torch to Connie. Cut to the end of the video - the queen has taken her throne - she’s now clinical lead - she knows she can make positive change - new beginnings start as of now.
