Well, this might be a good tutorial but, sorry Mam, your English is hard to understand if one is not British. I had to go through the tutorial 4 times until I understood. I am Swiss and lived in Chicago. But in the end I got it. Thanks a lot.

Very helpful thanks. I had been looking at Brother machines as their drop in bobbins are easier..but, I like the build quality of Elna and Janome more. I just have to decide which one to go for now...decisions decisions! x

Happy new year x going off to subscribe now😁🤗

Thank you so much for this tutorial! My son bought me an Elna 340 for my seventieth birthday 😄. He bought it in Australia, where he lives, so I haven’t had any free lessons and didn’t have a clue about threading my beautiful new machine or inserting the bobbin. Thanks to you clear instructions I have just done both! I live in South Africa.

Having problems with mine. Followed instructions to the letter but the wee lever isn't working and it doesn't change direction :(
@Sewconfidentjenny6 жыл бұрын
Try manually clicking the pull down lever, this is basically a switch that tells the machine to change direction. If you are working with a heavy fabric you also sometime have to help the fabric through by pulling it gently. Hope that helps!
@lizzychambersistidy6 жыл бұрын
@@Sewconfidentjenny mine is doing that too. Not changing direction. What do you mean manually clicking the lever?

It would be better to use a thread of a strong colour when doing this demonstration to make it easier to see where the thread is actually going to.

Hello Angela, I'm not sure what you mean. I did a step by step tutorial here though. sewconfidentglasgow.wordpress.com/2014/10/07/elsa-from-frozen-dress-tutorial-part-1/ The pattern did ask for a lining but it's only a costume so it doesn't really matter of you don't put one in. :)
@seasons01238 жыл бұрын
+Sew Confident a lining for the yoke.
@seasons01239 жыл бұрын
I didn't do a lining at all.. I didn't see where it said to cut out more for a lining... is that just what you added? I did interface the front panel of the bodice and lined that with some silky material from the skirt. The rest I left as is. This is for my daughter and she will be wearing a shirt underneath the bodice.
