Fabulous ‼️ I have a chest armchair that I hate the colour of and before I gave it away, my DIY brain thought about checking on fabric dying, and there you were👍. I’m absolutely going to have a go, as soon as I get the colour 🌹 Thanks 🥳

If the crack is on the bottom of the dish I've seen people add a thin layer of resin to the inside or underside and it's supposed to help the crack not spread. That clock dish is so cool

Hello, thank you for a great tutorial. I missed the part about the fixative so one of my cushions I already dyed it and rinsed it. Is it too late to apply to fixative or do I need to go through the process again? Thank you.

I read somewhere that if you use scotch guard after dying it you don’t have to worry about rinsing it. Is this true? Anyone have any experience with doing it?

Thank you for the video ❤ I have loose removable 100% polyester covers on my wing back chairs. The piece of fabric is too big for me to boil in a pot. Do you think this method would work on the loose covers? If I keep them on the chair and paint like you have done.

You can do this with fabric paint mixed with water too, which skips the boiling part. I dyed a silk chair this way and it turned out perfect! It was horrible avocado gold-green color, and i wanted it more of a teal color. So I got some Royal Blue colored fabric paint, mixed it with warm water until the painted-on color was just * slightly * darker than I needed it (because wet paint always dries lighter than it goes on). Then I just let it sit out in the summer sun for a day, and i had NO issues with transfer to clothes. But I probably should have used a fixative, so for my next project, I plan on doing this. I find the fabric paint with water is an easier method than the actual dye with boiling water. So much quicker, and a lot more of a mobile project because you're not tied to the stove or microwave.

We received this in the mail today! The packaging was fine, no damage during shipping thank goodness! The construction was very simple kzbin.infoUgkxXH3jIpsn6vpr3D26KWAriUejh7CSxVp7 , the bottom rocking part and the ottoman were already put together for us which is nice!As for the actual quality, the wood seems fine.. Not too cheap but maybe not the quality you would find in a store for 400$. However, it is still sturdy and feels secure. I've only had it for one night, so of course no squeaking yet.. But if it does squeak it could be easily oiled. The cushions are comfy, and made of a suede like material. Obviously with time these cushions will probably wear and tear.. But for the price of the chair it is still worth it just to go out and buy new cushions that fit in the future.Overall I am very satisfied, I was a little worried after reading some reviews and looking through the photos, but I'm happy I bought it! Obviously it's not a heavy-duty chair, but with care I'm hoping it will last a while.

Do you think the hosing off is essential? I am going to try this on 2 dining chairs in my apartment, the fabric is much more minimal than your chair,. I have nowhere to hose it off. and now I want to get started on it. Thanks for your input. (Great job on your chair. it looks really good).
@AmberNovak
@AmberNovak Жыл бұрын
I think there's potentially a higher risk of it bleeding and coming off on clothing, etc. if you don't hose it off. Good luck!

So..its very vague how much product you have used...you say 2 of this 1 of that etc..but that's because you are mixing that colour. if i want just black on light blue chair...will one bottle be enough? mixed with water as directions.

Cute video but I do want to warn others, please don’t hose down upholstered furniture like this. A lot of older furniture is stuffed with natural cotton, horse or hog hair, wood, burlap linen, cheesecloth, etc. All things that will be ruined by soaking.
