Once there's a hole in the city ruins there will be 3 passageways which open up. One is at the very bottom of the pit, which leads to story stuff One is a concrete pipe, which leads to the flooded city part One is a concrete pipe with some water coming out, you need to jump to reach it. this is the one you need, it will will eventually lead to that lake

For me it is the opposite, got almos everything so easly (less than 50 catches) but no Swordfish for more than 3 hours of fishing.

If you are interested in the catch percentages, the exact droprates for each fishing spot were datamined a couple of years ago. Check the pinned comment for a link the resources spreadsheet. For the methodology used for this guide, I kept fishing at each fishing spot until I caught at least two of each of the rare fish. (i.e. Beetle Fish, Swordfish, etc…) Additionally, I wanted at least 50 data points per fishing spot in case there weren’t any especially rare drops. If I remember correctly, this took about 50 hours combined for all fishing spots. Speaking from personal experience, the Swordfish and its machine variant were especially difficult to catch the second time. Hopefully you’ll be able to catch them both soon!

Glad to hear the guide provided some help. Regarding the difficulty of completing the Fishing Encyclopedia, I agee. The rarer drops especially can be very difficult to catch.

Yes, the translation is subpar. From what I remember, the book features a lot of grammatical errors and spelling mistakes. Additionally, like NieR:Automata: Long Story Short, the book seems to be a straight translation rather than a localisation. For example, "Glory to Humans" is used instead of "Glory to Mankind". I wouldn't recommend the book. It just generally feels cheap. If you just want to read the content, I would suggest reading a more accurate fan translation online. If you want something physical, some of the short stories of NieR:Automata: Short Story Long are also featured in the NieR: Automata World Guide but with a better translation.

No, they are different. Nier: Automata: Short Story Long, the book featured in this video, is a collection of short fiction and novellas set in the Nier universe. Nier: Automata: Long Story Short is the novelization of Nier: Automata.
