i haven't been up there since it changed, how does the track feel with a flat surface?
@TheRcworld1017 сағат бұрын
@@endosrc It’s deff more about setup than before. The new surface is more consistent. Grip is still not as high as it used to be, but the new racing style is very fast and will push more setup knowledge then before as it’s all about corner speed and minimizing mistakes.

Any thoughts on the comparison vs the 105 after having flown both? I'm hearing they have similar power, but this one is more fuel efficient and vibes less!
@TheRcworld1018 күн бұрын
To be honest I like my 105's better. The 91 is more fuel efficient by a tiny bit, and does recover better inbetween manuvers. I fly my 91 at 2000HS in my Raw 700 Nitro and my 105 at 1960HS both at their prefered RPM ranges. The 91 is a ripper, it pulls hard, and deff naturally has more RPM in it then the 105. However, when you get into it hard with the 91, if you don't manage collective super precise it does like to bog, but will recover almost immedatly. The 105 on the other hand you can tell just has solid torque band, it really holds nice in harder manuvers, but it just dosen't recover as quickly at the 91 when it does bog down from smack flying. Both are super reliable, great quality and solid choice. But so far I need to say I would still fly the 105 over the 91.

is there a reasoning for running the aluminum bellcranks but plastic rack?
@TheRcworld10117 күн бұрын
@@endosrc I like to run alum crank arms but plastic rack for a little flex in a crash. I’ve had ball cups pop before and or overtime wear servo gears, from not having a point of relief/flex point when we inevitably crash or tap a pipe.

My instinct and logic says if your running a mod motor you would want to tighten the slipper. Why do you say loosen? Well i see you dpnt reply to any questions so hopefully someone else can answer this
@TheRcworld101Ай бұрын
@@dirtrider88 Modified normally has a strong power band and delivery and we normally run hotter esc profiles with a lot of Boost and turbo. So the bottom end will snap out of corners strong. So to compensate, we generally only set the slipper to just enough torque to now break grip and be able to put down all the power for an efficient throttle feel. Hope this helps 🙂 Thanks for watching!
@dirtrider88Ай бұрын
@@TheRcworld101 thanks for answering my question. my thinking is that the more power will cause the slipper to slip more easily so you would have to tighten it. i see what your saying but to me what i said also makes sense. i guess ill go with the guy who has more experience. i have always either raced 17.5 with a lockout or ran bashers with a slipper which in my experience the manual usually just says something like "back out 1 1/2 turns".

Man, the improvements in main blades over the years is nice. I remember back when I flow for Outrage I had an early 550 pushing 2200w on 8s and snaped the core of a brand new set of radix in the afternoon demo flight. The rest of the time with that heli I ran sab blades. Seeing the crazy setups on the new sab ships makes me miss flying. I gave up flying heli due to essential tremor, I felt it was no longer safe for me to fly 3d. This was some great hard 3d, gota love the sound of pops and blade farts.

Great video! I'll add what I've found to work also. If you set your throttle hold curve to 20%, this will allow the bailout function to work for however many seconds that your "AR" (Auto Restart) time is set to in the ESC. So if you click out of hold during the auto, the bailout function will "fast start" the motor like you described. I have my AR time set to 30 seconds, as I doubt I could keep my RS4 in the air that long during an auto before landing. After 30 seconds, the esc will revert to the normal "soft start". The thing to remember is that if you do a short auto from a hover to landing with the blades stopped, then click out of hold within that 30 seconds, the motor will still fast start which could be a bad thing if your blades aren't tight enough or you're otherwise not ready for it. Initiating the throttle cut briefly after landing, either on a different switch or the same if desired, will reset the "AR" no matter how many seconds have elapsed, then soft start normally once clicked out of both. This is just a different way to accomplish the same thing, but would allow for your throttle hold and throttle cut to be on different switches which I am more used to for planes and nitro helis. Thanks again for the great video and taking the time to make it. It's what initially made me aware of how the bailout function worked on ESC's as I'm pretty new to the electric heli world!
@LichaelMewis2 ай бұрын
Excellent comment will try this too on a dedicated throttle cut switch because my muscle memory is burned in for throttle hold and I don't want to change off that two position switch. So will setup a separate throttle cut switch and change to -20%.
