What is the purpose of this system? How is it different from simple aeration?

Daphnia are sensitive to water currents and will drown in ordinary aeration. This device is effective in preventing acid deprivation by aeration while reducing water flow.

@@tamamijinkohonpo Thank you for your reply in English! I don't think this device is necessary if the only purpose is to increase the amount of dissolved oxygen without increasing the water flow as simply aerating at the edge of the aquarium can be an easy solution. Furthermore, I think using it is even worse than a simpe aeration for the amount of dissolved oxygen. Or, do you use it as a protein skimmer for daphnia? What is so specailiry of daphnia to use a protein sukimmer?

Aeration only on the surface limits the amount of dissolved oxygen, so it is necessary to distribute oxygenated water throughout the entire area. Compared to surface-only, the same amount of water does not result in a lack of oxygen, even if the amount of daphnia is higher. As the number of daphnia increases, water quality deteriorates, and the protein skimmer effect can drain the dirty water to the outside.
