Well, this is certainly the most un-Touhou-like Touhou game ever. Guess I'll harry up and watch this video. ^^ Could you imagine the alternate universe where ZUN decided this game's formula was a good idea and continued to make Arkanoid clones? I'm surprised there hasn't yet been an official game that calls back to this one, if only to retcon it as "Reimu's failed professional beach volleyball career". D:

Fun fact: The Japanese version of this game is called Touhou Gensoukyou (aka Gensokyo) which is the main game setting.

Funny thing about the 5 magic stones boss at 9:54, according to the wiki reimu was nervous/scared of these things. Knowing how different the canons are I still wonder just WHAT made her so spooked by these rocks

reasons i like touhou 1: -the game is abandonware so private it is okay (important reason) the game have doom melting screen (any game have a cool transition like melting screen get a instant W)

I mean it is, but I'd just rather play a well made shmup than play an unfinished college project like this, even if the concept is cooler, this game was just frustrating to play through and through, comparatively, LLS (besides the EX stage) and MS are a whole lot more enjoyable. It's like with IaMP, I'm a sucker for fighting games but holy hell that game's mechanics are so insane I'd just rather play a shmup instead.
