I just read your post. My husband has had leg ulcers for many years. We still fly and go on holiday to sunny places usually in an apartment for privacy. We have travelled even when in compression bandaging. This year the nurses gave us the dressings and wound cleaning kit to use while abroad. During the holiday the wound healed by a half because he sat in the sun/shade with his leg elevated more than at home and allowed the air to get at his leg. I’ve just discovered that oxygen decompression chamber treatment helps ulcers from the inside of the body. MS centres often have this treatment available for MS clients and also allow leg ulcer patients to use the facilities for a small fee. I hope you find a way go on holiday.

Very useful video when the nurse hands you a pile of these and says "go and heal yourself at home." Coz we all got COVID and can't be bothered.. You have no idea as to what side faces the wound..

Exactly the same happened to me until I stumbled upon a cure, but a I had to pay for it. I haven’t looked back since 2018 after having these treatments. Don’t count on the NHS coz they are decades behind in vein treatments. This makes my blood boil.

Thank you for sharing your story! I am in a similar situation as I am 49 but have lived with ulcers for about 12 years. They heal and then it’s fine for a while and then they come back. Going through a particularly difficult time at the moment but I know it will get better. I also use to be embarrassed about my leg now I don’t care who says me etc. I agree also with the tissue viability clinic they are absolute saints. I have a very rare form of leg ulcers and initially it took about 5 years to heal but because they know what works it’s not so long.

Venous ulcers can now be cured but treatment is dire on the NHS. I had to pay for mine, but haven’t looked back since I had the treatments in 2018. Forget tissue viability they will only treat the symptom and not the underlying cause.

There are now treatments that can cure them if they’re venous. Please do not listen to anyone in the NHS about venous insufficiency and forget tissue viability they will only treat the symptom and not the underlying cause. Makes my blood boil.

Might this be good for clearing up leg ulcers? I’ve had varicose vein laser surgery but still I get small ulcers which take forever to clear up. I attend a clinic to change the dressings but attending isn’t covered by either my health insurance or government cover. I think I can’t really afford many more treatments especially as I see no light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for the reply. A few months ago I asked whether UrgoTwo is distributed in Australia. Same question really for the Urgostart. I have leg ulcers which I’d love to clear up.

Hi Paul, sorry to hear your question went unanswered for months. UrgoStart and UrgoKtwo are both available in Australia. UrgoKTwo in Australia is called UrgoK2. We hope this helps! If you wish to receive extra information, do not hesitate to reach out to us again.

@@UrgoMedicalUK Hello, thanks for the feedback. It occurred to me after my question that it was remiss of me not to thank the company for even making these videos at a time which I imagine is frantic for the medical industry. "Thank you". Anyway, previously I have dealt with Independence Australia to purchase my Urgo products. Tonight whilst googling, I see there is Urgomedical dot com dot au. Can I buy from them, perhaps your Australian office, or which company should I buy from? Perhaps the name of the authorised dealer? Thanks again.

Hello, I use Urgotul Border/Absorb Border. What is the difference between what I have and Urgostart Plus Border?

Hello, all UrgoTul dressings are ideal for acute wounds because they promote an ideal environment for the wound to heal, and are also pain-free at removal so dressing changes would not cause unnecessary pain to your patients. All of the UrgoStart Plus dressings are better suited for the wounds that are more chronic in nature, such as leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers or pressure ulcers. That's because all UrgoStart Plus dressings have something unique in them: TLC-NOSF, which is a special ingredient that reduces the healing time. Not all wounds need that, but leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers are very complex wounds and can take a long time to heal, so they need a bit more help. All the UrgoStart Plus dressings are also pain-free at removal, to not cause unnecessary pain at dressing changes. If you are interested, there is a video up on our channel that walks you through how UrgoStart Plus dressings work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIGwiJubabGai5Y We hope we answered your question, if you want more information on either of our dressing, feel free to contact us and we'd be happy to help!
