@veghesther3204 I'm glad you had fun power leveling, but that is not my playstyle. I NEVER power level. I play games to enjoy the stories and how natural the progression happens. The only time I farm for anything is for quest items that monster drops or in farming/crafting based games. The only time I max leveled in a game was Pokémon Red and Blue when it first came out.

Sadly I am not going to be able to stream Tokyo Xanadu today. A hurricane hit the eastern USA last night and my area is starting to get the left over storms. there is to much risk of a power outtage during the stream. I will be back on Monday though with Wild Arms 2.

@SonyStark12 if it helps Visions of Mana is about 40 - 50 hours for main game play and then an extra chapter post credits (I haven't played the extra content yet). Sword Art Online is much longer. I have yet to finish the first game and there are several in the series. :)

@centurynerdbr it should be, but Visions set it up so it is both ways. So Fire is strong against water but weak against water and vice versa. Moon and Wood are the only 2 with no strengths or weaknesses.

It is, but they establish it pretty early. So it is very easy to navigate.

@srscricket mine too. :) especially Ryza 2 with all the added features. It is bringing back that first spark of joy I had playing Iris when it came out.

There is a diffference with grinding because of a choice and grinding because you HAVE to. Old School games, which I grew up with as I am 44 and have had gaming systems since the Atari, had systems to deal with grinding. 1. The game would get more difficult because the mobs you fight would level up with you or a massive difficulty spike to the game. This massive spike can make the game feel like its set to a higher difficulty. 2. A punishment system for grinding to much. Which could be you have a limit to leveling points available, Missing out on being able to level skills gained later, or penalizing you with less to no exp for fighting lower level mobs. 3. Enforced limits. ie spawns STOP after a while. Mainly JRPGs where they want to allow different playstyles to do their thing, but still kind of guide you to moving along in the story. My preference is for JRPGs/RPGs are games that allow for natural grinding by making dungeons maybe a little longer or you just need to go get quest items. Usually a game that feels way to grindy I zone out because I loose the story. This is a big reason I have only ever beatten 1 Final Fantasy game and usually are indifferent to them all. I am glad you are able to speed run this game in 7.5 hours and that you love this game enough to speedrun it for casual fun. Thats the feeling I have with Star Ocean 2 or Atelier Marie. My opinion of the game is that it is not for me and honestly thats okay with me. Everyone is allowed to like or dislike things even if they are popular. Thats the joy of having so many games to choose from. That said I know I can beat the boss with my playstyle if I had a couple more revives, which is my fault for not holding onto more. My anxiety doesn't function in a way that I can multitask by micromanaging the AI team members, but thank you for the suggestion.

I am enjoying it :) Its good to go back to the games I loved when I was growing up. It's such a fund game that stands out from its competition of the time. I'm sad teh series fizzled off in 2007 -_-

@@AmaltheaAoiSi Absolutely. Before FF7 came out, I 100% expected it to look similar to WildArms (I hadn't seen magazine ads, to be fair). It seemed the natural progression from FF6. But yeah - This game'll always be one of my favorites. Everything from the setting to the music is just... To me its like Breath of Fire. So much to build on, but the IP is just left there to rot. Saddening.

It is sooo sad. I'm glad Star Ocean and FF7 both got referbished and released for modern systems. I just wish Wild Arms and Breath of Fire would get the same treatment. Hell they just need to use Wild Arm Alter Code F to bring it to current systems. Breath of Fire would do great with a 2.5D Graphics like Star Ocean 2 just got.

@@AmaltheaAoiSi 100% agree re: Breath of Fire. Rather than dragging Ryu out for company promotional art like a posed corpse (ie Weekend at Bernies), they need to give us 2.5D remakes of 1&2 - MAYBE even 3&4, so that the artwork and design all matches. That would be amazing. And definitely what you said for Alter Code F! Increase the model polygons, clean them up a bit. Maybe edit the model skins a bit for more detail, more stylization. They've pretty much got a relatively cheap title (compared to recent games) to push out that I know MANY would want to buy (esp. if on PC like many Sony titles). If it sells well? Put effort into an Alter Code F influenced 2 remake, then hit the latter titles. Good turn-based RPGs are almost a lost art, and I am -certain- new fans would come along to make Wild Arms 6 worthwhile.

They are all set to "Attack with all your might" but still will just stand and do nothing. Fayt does it a lot in the next episode tomorrow. I just view it as something with the port to PS5. It does hold a warning that some things may not work right. Eh XD makes me feel better? It's helped their damage taken lessen for the AIs but I also don't have any plans to add more to it then it has.

@@AmaltheaAoiSi The game works the same way as the original (aside from the crashing and the way you use the dragon flute). You can see your AI settings at 2:50:30. You switch to AWAYM a few minutes later, thus fixing the issue. In the next episode, Fayt wasn't attacking the Blue Dragon Zombie because the boss is immune to Lightning Blade.

ok cool. Makes me feel better about the AI. Playing this at the same time as Trials of Mana where the AI can do some really odd things just makes one weary of the AI.

Thank you 😊 I fully agree. This isn't a game I'm wanting to pay for. It just was lacking on so many levels and is still so buggy for a February release date. I'd love to see you be able to exit the ship as a boarding arty and actually fight or more diversity in the cities you dock at. The Co-op, which for us as a family is important, is very buggy when it comes to quests. I'd recommend waiting to see if another beta happens or if it's on a game pass. Truthfully I was bored by the end of the 6 hours with how repetitive it was and how I just felt it was a ship sailing Simulator without the pirate side of stuff. Their feedback area is full of a lot of these same comments that sea of theives or Assasins Creed Black Flag are much better. It also crashed our sons PC enough to him not finishing the beta and it was so glitchy on the XboxX Grackster nearly rage quit too. I had the best experience on the PS5 which it seemed to be made for. Also not good for cross-play co-op.

@@AmaltheaAoiSi yea it honestly just looks like if you only had the pirate ship quest/story from Black Flag and took out the rest of that game lol - this will definitely be one I'll let release and then watch the occasional "gameplay footage" and see what happens over time. i think Sea of Thieves will retain their superiority in the Pirate World for many more years though lol

I agree fully. My Hubby had fun, but he's ex-coast guard so think thats what he was enjoying. If I see they add in more pirate side of things I;m down or if it's on Game Pass on a system XD I'd play it if I don't have to pay for it.

@@emilia8706 I've hit to low as well XD It's like an odd gamble. I've even had it great on a game and then the next game its super loud or super quiet (Ys 9 had a few very quiet audio). Once I even figured out the cat had losened the audio cord from my capture card -_- Mass props to all the sound techs I know.

I still prefer Ashley Roddick can't even LEARN his best MP cost moves without Ashley in the party and Ashley still gets the better weapon Cyuss's best weapon sadly is PURE CRAP since its not only elemental but ALL of the final dungeon enemies will absorb the damage from his best weapon. Roddick can equip the Marvel Sword for the entire game which CAN be used to actually hit those 60 lvs while the Attack Power of the Marvel Sword in this one is LESS then its 2nd story/evolution version with the Beserk Ring + Ring of Might equipped even at lv 60 Roddick can still hit for 9999 damage using the Marvel Sword.

You are def reminding me why when I played back in the day I would map out my team. I did regret getting Cyuss after reading the character guides again. Downside to not having played star ocean first departure since it first came out in the USA. Maybe I'll take my day off and start a playthrough and pick the people I'd love to have instead of my drop of a hat choice. Also brava on your amazing Star Ocean knowledge. 🌟

In this one only Marvelle Pericci and Ashley are the only useful optional party members the others Cyuss Phia ioshua and Erys are pure CRAP/worthless in battles. For 2nd evolution Ashton Celine Precis Noel still suck and never in my party ever and Welch sucks in BOTH.

I do remember Marvelle being awesome and with today's power blurp I've caught soo much I'm now remembering and have missed. I'm going to start the gameplay again. 😆 I missed Marvelle which would have saved me from being with Cyuss. I'm also going to try for all the trophies. Gotta fill the time till November's Second Story rerelease. I don't even remember my team for second story. I usually would start at what ending I wanted and lined my character choices up with that endings requirements. How long you been a Star Ocean player? What do you think of the newer ones?

I'm not sure either. Singularity 6 has been very clear its a cosy sim game. Its more like Dreamlight Valley but with multiple people online. I wouldn't say Farming simulator either as there is A LOT of different skills. i could go farming, hunting, fishing, or so on. Honestly farming is my lowest skill XD, but yeah its a cosy life sim style game thats 100% online in an open world with many other players. Like an online Stardew valley, animal crossing, or dreamlight valley. not an MMORPG like FF14 or WoW.
