It's the same everywhere. Accidents like these happen all the time. Since posting links to examples is not possible YT, please google the words "planes damaged" to get an idea of how much this happens. Then you'll understand and appreciate. The other aspect of your complaint can also be understood, once you know what is involved. Imagine that the crew that you were supposed to fly with for that 30 minute flight, already flew the whole day. Per FAA law, you can only schedule so much time for pilots (8 hours actual block time but with a maximum duty time of 12 hours also that cannot be exceeded). The same rules also apply to cabin crew, but with different time parameters. I believe that the maximum, however duty time for domestic operations is 12 up to 14 hours also, for those days with rolling delays. There comes a time, when, by estimation of going over the 14 hours on the job, cabin crew can decline to be extended. Or would you feel ok with being with a cabin crew, that has been forced to be up, at work, in airports, planes, around angry passengers, delayed for 20+ hours. Those capitalists running corporation like AA, would completely be fine with it. But with draconian rules like that, lots of other stuff would happen, such as crew members dropping dead on the planes. Now imagine not only those two aspects, but rather, a whole array of additional money costing circumstances - overtime-forced ground staff, etc. Hotel accommodations for crew/passengers, etc... etc... etc... Then you will understand. And it is like this everywhere!!!!! Lufthansa is one of the worlds worst airlines, because they truly don't give a damn and they pride themselves at being rude (and acting like they right while every customers is always wrong) on top of being exactly shitty way as AA, UA, DL etc...

You're right. Damn... those regulations do sound draconian. I may have been frustrated but safety must always come first. I appreciate the reply.

@@danielelenesanfosso744 Although i dont fly anymore, i now remember that so many times when faced with a situation of going over 14 hours, when the company would ask us if we could, please, please as a group of between 5 and 12 crew members unanimously agree to go over that time frame of 14 hours, that when we did so, and then we found ourselves stuck with passengers on the plane, at the 16th hour that we all then just wanted to stop and go to a hotel and have the flight cancelled. You know what crew scheduling then told us? "Ohh, your contract has a language that says you can volunteer to go over the 14 hour limit, but it does not have language that says you can un-volunteer." When I heard those words come out of the crew scheduler's mouth, I was in disbelief. We looked up the collective bargaining agreement (contract), and indeed, there was no language negotiated between the union and the company to indeed put a time-cap, once you've volunteered to over the time. Needless to say that the 5 of us, including pilots, learned a lesson that day: To always say 'no,' when the company asks for help. That is why so many employees are against their own companies. More than 95% of airline/aviation related employees are treated so bad by their companies and passengers, that, in the end, more than 80% just do not give a flying foog anymore about passengers or the airline. And this the same at every airline all over the world.

Gosh no. I have had too many bad experiences on American. live in Miami, where American has a monopoly since it is the only airlines with a hub there. I will drive to Ft Lauderdale so I need not fly American. Once you fly non US airlines and non European airlines you can see what excellent seat value, service, food and amenities are. Asian airlines are the best. Qatar, ANA, Singapore and more are spectacular for the exact same price, cheaper most of the time.
@danielelenesanfosso7443 ай бұрын
As a Miami resident, you're willing to drive up to Fort Lauderdale when flying out just to avoid American that bad? Wow, guess I'm not the only one here who dislikes American (lol)! As an Austinite, Southwest Airlines has by far the most operations out of any other carrier and I've never flown them so I don't really care. I'd be open to fly them sometime, because I hear you get free seats! American however is in second place :(. I respect your opinion but I disagree. From personal experiences, United has improved A LOT and they're easy to fly with, Delta is amazing (though expensive) however, we only had one bad experience where the IFE wasn't working and they lost our bags at BCN for a few days. Personally, my favorite airline is British Airways. Nice fleet, amazing crew, clean cabins, punctual, and I love the cozy pish-push British accent I hear on the intercom! However, they're partners with American since they're both Oneworld so better avoid American should things go south. I've never flown a single carrier that's not North & South American nor European. I do hear great things about the Asian/Asian Pacific and Australasian carriers so I can't wait to give them a shot. I don't care about the middle eastern airlines since I don't plan on going to the middle east.

You sound exhausted. Always remember though, Safety First. And please remember the crew is also delayed - they have families and events at home, they want to get there too. Safety First. As far as the seats go - 😡 I'm only 5'3" and I barely fit BUT my feet don't reach the floor. So I have to rest them on my under seater or suffer horrible back pain. I've got titanium in there so there's no adjusting myself.

That ought to be unpleasant about how the seats go. Do you slouch by any chance? Slouching can also cause back pain and it's not good for you to do anyways. Plus, you compromise legroom by doing so. Regarding safety, you're right. It must always come first. Always. As paying costumers, we must have empathy for those serving us, even during inconveniences. Thank you for your opinion and feedback, they're both highly valued.

I’ve always wondered, since there’s only one terminal in Austin how do they make sure people go through immigration/customs?
@danielelenesanfosso7444 ай бұрын
@@aassure1936 On the east side of the expansion, when you leave the aircraft from an international/intercontinental flight, the jet bridge takes you to a staircase going up a flight of stairs taking you to the second floor. As you walk on the second floor, you will see the main floor from your left, then, you will walk down underneath those 2 floors and you will see a baggage belt and an immigration checkpoint. As a matter of fact, there’s actually two terminals, the Barbara Jordan which most people know of and the South Terminal which is exclusively for Allegiant.

I know right! The aircraft cabin is insanely quiet. The business class cabin was the quietest. So quiet, I was able to hear passengers snoring from the front end all the way to the rear. However, it was not as quiet in economy since I was seated aft of the wings. I still heard snoring in economy though. You wouldn’t even believe you were on a plane.

Yes yes. There’s always going to be room for improvements in these reports and constructive criticism does help. There is one report I made last summer on an another United Airlines trip report from Costa Rica to Texas where I did film the screen at the gate where it has all the flight information by the boarding door. Without regards to that, did you at least enjoy this report? This one easily surpassed the other report in views and likes. Easily.
