As an actor, I find it fascinating to see one's journey. 🇬🇧❤️

LOL I really had a good time on those shoots when we got to play like that. Alas, the days of creative and fun CoEd work are a thing of the past. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for your kind words.

Keith, you have an engaging, dynamic, energetic delivery--both your nonverbals (voice and facial expressions), and the content--superb advice--appreciate your efforts, peace, Dr B

Thank you, Kindly, Dr. B. I was very fortunate to have begun teaching online courses for my private studio prior to the pandemic so this kind of communication felt very natural once it became the primary mode of instruction. All of those years hosting TV probably helped as well ;-). I don’t believe we have ever met but perhaps we will at some point on campus in the future. Thank you for clicking that link in the adjunct portfolio. KF

Mr. Keith I’m a theatre major starting college this semester, and there’s a local theatre nearby having auditions for the importance of being earnest so i’ve been looking up material to prepare for it, and i watched one of your earlier videos on rp english. Your videos are so cool and it’s wild to me that even if this youtube thing is a side thing, it’s not way more popular, because these mini lectures are so helpful and interesting. Thank you for this channel as a resource, i will definitely be watching most of if not all of these videos.

@@EricT3769 I also use these vocal techniques for altering speech in my on-camera work quite a lot. You can find my... 2024 demo reel on this KZbin channel which will give you some examples.

@@Actorsplace I saw you in American Gothic around 1995. I recognized your name since we went to grade school together along with another Keith. 😂 I’ll look for those examples. I’m always amazed when I hear a voice that seems familiar in a video game for example, and I find out it’s an actor I’m familiar with from some show or movie.

I so enjoyed this Keith. As an English born actor from the south eastern county of Kent, one of the so called ‘Home Counties’ of England where RP was born, it is fascinating to hear such a powerful tutorial on this now almost obsolete British accent. It is as much of a challenge to us as it is for non-British mother tongue speakers. Our local British accents are strong and vary geographically over very short distances, sometimes over just a few miles. RP was essentially created (it is not a natural dialect but more of a purposeful creation of class distinction) to instantly present the speaker with class distinction regardless of where you happen to be. Directors here now rarely ever use RP unless they wish to purposely set a play at a time period when it was prevalent, or they wish to create a pastiche; RP being widely mocked and derided here. Audiences would probably laugh at it nowadays and therefore it’s employed sparingly and purposefully. Your pronunciations are glorious and accurate - and I was especially thrilled to hear you say ‘Bunbury’ in such a perfect way. I only wish my American accents were as good as your English is. I heartily commend this tutorial as someone from this small island across the pond. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
