Tayam didnt need to loose his nature's chosen and the stax piece.. he could have activated tayam ability again in response.. once everyone already had done the one spell permitted .. and bring back the centaur garden activating again instant speed remaking the combo with everything on the pile.

I feel like while being right on calling some of the stuff the Korvold player was doing, calling them a bad player wasn't warranted imo. You don't know what they had in hand, so they were perhaps playing around stuff the whole time? Culling Rit came down after the interaction battle happened with Ertai countering Swat etc, but all of that opened the way for the CoS and WBA line.

Evening, You are right and we need to think that I see this with imperfect information. Something can look fishy and I am harping on it and be wrong at the next move. I see a lot of channels that are just move info and no commentary or insight and I aim to be the latest. Regards

I dont get why you prefear a consult oracle win instead a game where you can constantly stop a player to win. Usually when a player draws his library the pod can concede for good manners, you dont have to watch a player go through a 40 mins combo with 5+ counters in hand just to complicate things or make the player do mistakes. Underworld breach brain freeze combo is the same stuff too, but noone is complaining that much on probably the most broken card in the format (thassa's). Nadu is here for stay, is just a very good commander and simic is finally getting some love. What about banning tymna or magda then? Or roghark? Do you think is fair just because they dominate the meta now? What about ad naus? Stop crying dude and get some removals for the bird.

You are somewhat right and Grixis pile should be looked at. But when the development team itself admits they made a mistake, this kind of knee jerk reactions happen. Commander is a social format and anything that takes this much time away is not fun. No other combos takes this long to resolve, this is the issue and not all Nadu players do the combo quickly. I personally adapted and even if he has all the counterspell in hand, you never concede in a tournament.

@@NoobplayscEDH i think they admitted they made a mistake only for modern concern. There are plenty of more broken cards in edh that nobody is willing to ban (dockside/underworld breach/thassa's oracle/mana crypt and why not include jeweled lotus too). Plus roghar and tymna/kraum are way more oppressive than nadu, for color identity and for gameplay

As I use mobile setup, every day is different. Also, since I participate in the évent it is hard to test the full play area properly. Thanks a lot for the feedback, trying to get a few insight to try and teach new players.

You cannot activate spellskite multiple times. Nadu ability only triggers when the creature becomes the target of a spell or ability. It will not trigger multiple times because spellskite doesnt become the target multiple times

I,m 50/50 on Bans. Saw the Ban videos on @PlaytowinMTG and I have to admit, they are right. The more ban, th eless vbroken the format gets. We just need to wisen up and run Amphibian Downpour and Dress Down effect. As you may know, I play Magda, all my burn spells now does at least 4

I agree. I am mostly against bans except when it leads to people playing in a sloppy manner which makes it impossible for opponents to follow their actions and catch misplays and illegal actions. Nadu is really easy to misplay into a win because your opponents can't follow your boardstate...This is not gameplay worthy of a top4 table in a high stakes cEDH tournament!

@@julietremblay768cEDH is a multiplayer format, if you were really doubting about the boardstate, you could have asked for a clarification! and its even easier to do when there is a judge and there was! as you said, it was a high stakes table and players are stressed, they make mistakes, you can’t put all the fault on the nadu player cause as i’ve said at anytime any of y’all could have asked the player or the judge to take time to clear out the board, which you didn’t. so instead of complaining after losing you should just ask yourself what could you have done better as a whole!

@@blaedsounds139 i agree. I just though it was the judge's job to keep things clean and legal since he was sitting right there the whole time. Next time i will make the nadu player clean his board and carefully pass priority during each action. If it takes 2 extra hours because he doesnt know his deck well then that just sucks for all 3 other players which is why i think nadu should be banned....

From what I remember, he doesn't activate Unctus, it is Unctus trigerring from a Blue creature gettin g tapped. Trigger is 200 right while activated it 200 left.

Minish from Magda's discord helped me a lot but that line is wonderful. I would love to have an alternate for barkform so I can loop without a creature. Grafdigger is a wonderful stax piece and keeping it in game is sometimes crucial (Tayam, Kinnan activations) THanks for the comment

Moving through phases you have to ask the table and if no one responds or if there are no responses you can move round the next phase if someone would like to do something before the person moves to combat say if someone has floating mana they will gain priority and cast whatever they want to do moving through phases requires rounds of priority that most just breeze by to save time loved the video

All players have to pass an empty stack before the game can move onto the next phase example if someone would like to do something before combat you will remain in the main phase until another round of priority has passed

@@NoobplayscEDH Your judge was incorrect. 500.2. A phase or step in which players receive priority ends when the stack is empty and all players pass in succession. Simply having the stack become empty doesn’t cause such a phase or step to end; all players have to pass in succession with the stack empty. Because of this, each player gets a chance to add new things to the stack before that phase or step ends. It only actually changes once the stack is empty with all players having passed. Someone in later order having effects when given priority resets priority to you after stack clears and you again have to attempt to change phase.

Holy shenanigans! So yeah, it was an illegal move in this case. You cannot remove counter from Icatian than sac him. If he would remvoe counters then tap mana, that would be grabbing at straws though. Also, the channel is called Noob plays cEDH, it is meant to be somewhat educational, spot mistakes done and get better. Thank you for prving Tayam player is not infaillible, especially past 9pm (Game 8 means it was super late)

Quick note that even if it COULD, it doesn't mean the player decides to. Sometimes, exiling 3 cards is not a good idea if you only need the mana.

@@NoobplayscEDH even brainfreeze + LED are not autoincludes. A lot of the people on the discord are off it since these are dead draws + krark can win with anything (lightning bolt, end the festivities, molten duplication on sakashima + rock, etc). Breach is sometimes there as a standalone value piece without LED + freeze. Thoracle would only be relevant for the subset of lists running the full breach package. It would also a dead draw & winmore (you have a lot of wincons in the deck already).

I believe you are allowed to show a player’s hand, since you “control the player” with oppo, and reveal of hand is a player’s valid action

Actually you are allowed to show "your" hand, not an opponents hand. I wouldnt dare do it fully as the ruling is fuzzy since it was updated. Lemme ask a Judge on Magda Discord

So here is the interpretation, new ruling allows you to share your hidden information. You cannot share other people's hidden information. Even if you control the player, you cannot force him to reveal the hidden information. You can tell it but people will assume you lie.
