The marker that was behind you was for no motor boats past that line ( milfoil ) so you where chopping up milfoil and fishing in a restricted area all on video 😂

What is rod and gear setup? I'm looking to get into pike fishing

Early in the season you can get away with bass size lures on medium heavy bass gear. Later in the season I usually will go bigger with musky equipment and a 300 size baitcasting reel. Medium Heavy Musky rod will usually work for most of the bigger pike lures I use 1 to 3 ounces. I use 50 to 65 pound Power Pro.

My in laws have a place up there. I pulled a few five pounders out over the summer. My father-in-law pulled a 8.7 pounder few years back. It's a great lake

Just so you know you can fish anywhere in there if you have a new hampshire or vermont fishing license. Both are fully legal anywhere at moore dam as its all technically the Connecticut river. If youre in the water youre fine.

That looks like Baker Lake, camped there last fall for the moose hunt, Musky is on my fishing “to do” list. Looks worth going back for the fishing.

We use Suspending Jerkbaits and Blade baits like the silver buddy or Heddon Sonar.

Yeah me and my buddies have tried using live bait these past few years and it just hasn’t been working for some reason, I think we gotta switch over to something else like spoons or something

People thanking you for releasing those pike are morons. Sebago is one of only 4 lakes in maine with NATIVE Landlocked Salmon. Their populations in the lake are dwindling due to lake trout and pike illegal introductions. All pike and lake trout should be KILLED after being caught.

Usually anything 6:2:1 to 7:6:1 are good for pike. Right now I’m just using bass gear and smaller lures. Later in the season like in this video I use musky gear and 300 size baitcast reels.

I use 65 pound braid using the heavier equipment with those jerkbaits. I usually use 50 to 100 pound titanium or around 100 pound flourocarbon leaders.
