Excellent discussion and information. I've had the pleasure of meeting Bruce at the Chet Atkins convention over a couple of summers, and always enjoye our conversations. Great musician and great teacher.

I worked for a show producer and was brought onto a ship to be the TD for the outside producer. I was treated like ship's crew - couldn't use passenger dining or amenities while the cast and orchestra did, had a bunk in a crew cabin, they wanted me to run shuffleboard and other non-show BS. I got my passport from the ship's purser and got off at the first port with an American diplomatic presence. NEVER AGAIN.

bruh playing fast doesn’t make you great… plenty of basement dwellers can shred. writing on guitar is the most important and Mayer does it better also Mayer plays pretty fast while singing on songs like “good love is on the way” and “edge of desire” so you’ve just ran your mouth about someone whilst vastly over generalizing them. good job
@shredacuda
@shredacuda 6 ай бұрын
@fredsystra7584 you clearly know nothing about guitar playing. Guthrie is one of the best, most diverse and versatile players ever. He's not a pop artist like Mayer. Mayor is a one-trick pony he's very good at what he does.

Both. Depends on what you're playing before the harmonic. Sometimes one is easier than the other to fit it in
@ansmfella
@ansmfella 6 ай бұрын
Either way, for those that may not know... mess with Moving your picking hand up and down the strings,, you'll find different harmonics across at certain areas depending on the fretted note and your picks proximity to it 😎👍

#2. Enable the harmonic with the edge of the thumb. Just sort of came naturally. Once you do it, it's easy.

I pinch the string between my plec and middle finger, works more often for me, however I originally thought that's how everyone done it hence it being a "pinch" harmonic
