30:50 I see you played snake dance however you didn’t bounce bell-mere. I understand you don’t have to bounce with snake if there are no characters but if there are characters on the field can you still use snake and NOT bounce your character?

tried this build and felt like I bricked more than every other builds, especially when my triggers were full of characters instead of draw 2s I can see the tech behind it and even agree with the matchup advantages but truth be told, without gavel recursion, without impel down all stars, it seems like you have to almost always rely on that specific tech card that, if you don't get it, you're screwed. honestly kuja engine has been proven to be more reliable to me, but I can see this is a personal experience aswell

Already working on it c: It's pretty good for us. Initial thoughts are that I'm moving a bit more away from Apis in the my 08 build and siding in techs like Boodle. The build I ended up settling in for 08 east was similar to the standard Kuja build, but with more Death Wink and 2 Bell-mere. Without Law bottom decking, I want to see if we can move to Warlords again (or if I can get my spicy Navy build off the ground lol)

@@WafflesTheAsianYenbear Thanks for the direct reply. I started building a Nami deck based on this video of yours, so I look forward seeing the updated video. I also looked into Usopp OP03-041. It has rush but lacks the K.O. disincentive that Bell-mere has. Bell-mere might still be better because of the K.O. disincentive. Usopp, however, is still better than Zeff OP03-047. I agree with you that cards that mill on K.O. like Bell-mere and Boodle nerf removal, as the Nami player still mills no matter what happens. The only concern is 10c Blackbeard in OP09, which the internet chatter says would stop Nami, but that depends if Blackbeard decks become meta in OP09.

Tbh it's been so long that I forgot how I explained it here, but it's basically When you load into the stage, your characters are arranged in a random order 1-7. Whatever you put in the first two slots come back after 1 turn. Whatever is in the third slot gets put at the end of the line So turn 1 1-2-3 Turn 2 4-5-6 Turn 3 7-1-2 Turn 4 3-4-5 Turn 6 6-7-1 Hope it helps c:

@@WafflesTheAsianYenbear howdy I just finished the event! Ngl this Nami deck is hella strong. I was also the only Nami left by round 7 (format 8 swiss, lose 3 and youre out) P.S there was other namis but mainly impel down and kuja build they didnt last long. It also helped I never met any R/P Law. So here how it went, btw OP08 and the new ST are allowed. R1 - R/P Luffy (L) the leader based 6K was not easy to deal with. At one point, he had a board of 8K+ and 7c kid who helped him gain 1K every turn. Ended with 10 cards left R2 - Enel (W) welp R3 - Lucci (W) They constantly KO bellmere every turn I play her cuz he was afraid of the 7 mill. R4- Enel (W) I never had such a good start like this and doubt I will ever get it again R5 - Kata (L) the new 6c big mom from the ST is impossible to deal with. You'll always be in a lose lose situation. I lost two love beam cuz i didnt want to lose my hands. That ultimately bite me in the ass late game. 7 cards left R6 - Katakuri (W) by far the toughest match, won with white snake and gavel combo late game. Lucked out R7 - Katakuri (L) had a decent start hand but turns out every other stuff is at the bottom. Played with 1 Kaya the entire game. 17 cards left *Lost 3 and my match concluded but being the only Nami left in Top 100 really boost my ego Overall, this is by far the best Nami deck I've ever tested. (Only changes i made was 4 snake dance for 3 snake dance and 1 apis) This deck is hella consistent, and it actually rewards you for playing greedy. Just spam events and then death wink later. Honestly, not really. I've done my best, but 08 meta is like 50% Law, 20% Enel, 30% Lucci. We're fine against Enel and Lucci, but you really have to rely on luck to win the 08 matches with buffed up Law (even with anti Law techs). When he gets banned, we'll be fine again, but until then, it's pretty difficult

Wake up, babe. Waffle's new Nami guide just dropped. Wooooooo! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on the deck! The mind games are strong in this one. Two things that I also picked up on in the RP Law matchup; I personally feel safe playing a blocker out when the Law has a full board. They are going to want to swing with at least one of their characters before using leader ability, giving you a chance to block out of their first attack if they swing, or forcing them to lose 1 attack in order to bottom deck it. Feels like a good trade to me, but I'd love to know your thoughts. Maybe its only value with the Marguerite blocker since she draws on play. Second, I like to save kayas when possible for either that same situation, giving me the ability to snake dance out of the first swing and pull the Kaya back before they send her to the depths. Another note with Kaya, if you can play 2 in one turn, they can only get rid of one, possibly opening an opportunity for a bounce on one of them. Fairly niche in practice because of the hand size required, but very good if you can pull it off. So interesting that there are no searchers to stack the bottom of the deck, which was such an integral part of the 06 list. I'm going to miss the reliability of ordering the bottom 8 to 12 cards in my deck. Do you bottom deck with Spada often? Gonna go try this list out! Great job on the Sim gameplay and commentary over it. It was definitely worthwhile, and valuable for both new and veteran Nami players. (Including yourself, I'm sure. Lol) If you ever feel like releasing more of that content, I'll be here to watch, like, and comment! Edited bc your cat is so cute! More kittty in video please thanks. 🙏
@WafflesTheAsianYenbear
@WafflesTheAsianYenbear Ай бұрын
Thank you so much! So to answer the questions - first, I think that can work vs RP Law, but it depends on the situation. It's not necessarily that Law wants to attack, but they don't want to waste their 3 don. If they're still setting up their board, then a good Law player will just play a character and then bottom deck our blocker. Margaret works for sure in that situation, but that leads us into a different build that's more Kuja Pirates based. With the Kaya point, you're very right! Maybe I should have mentioned that, but that play is conditional on us having Snake Dance + 2 Kayas. If we just do it with the 2 Kayas, then they'll just bottom deck 1 each turn and we'll be in the same boat as usual. I do find that I bottom deck things with Spada pretty often. Basically, if I see 3 cards that I either A. Can't combo with my current hand Or B. Don't want to draw just yet (say a Pilaf if I already have one in hand), I'll bottom deck it and set it up for the endgame c: it definitely took some getting used to, but no searcher is really reliable enough with the current list. Lol I'll make sure the kitties appear at least once in each video then c:

While Nami isn't the best leader in the meta, she's relatively strong. There are a lot of great builds out there. I believe this list is the most consistent, but it's going to depend on your local meta and your own playstyle. I hope that this video can provide insights and a good starting point for your own Nami builds. While 07 has passed for me, it’s always wonderful to see how western players innovate and take the existing builds to the next level. In fact, it’s thanks to you all that I’ve felt inspired to keep at it with Nami in the 08 meta (it’s rough out here for us lol). White Snake and 7 drop Croc carried me at the Peoria regionals. Multiple times White Snake ended my opponents turn on the spot and even had a few times where my opponent forgot about the effect and wasted an attack. Now, while croc is hard to make stick in the matchups where it can stay on board it wins the game on its own. I was able to beat a Zoro player while having no life for two turns because I was able to remove his rush cards with the croc and piece together card draw without having to worry about my don count.

I agree completely c: the only reason Croc isn't in this build is that Sakazuki and RP Law are around, so I believe the chance of running into a match where it can be removed is too high to justify the slots. 2 copies gets added to the 07 build c:

Hey, I genuinely love the thoughts on the deck. Don't let the haters get to you. I think your guide was simple enough to explain the deck to complete beginners, and thoughful enough for even skilled Nami players to take something away from it. I experimented with it on the sim after watching, and realized that my normal lines are not going to serve me here. Replaying sections helped to change my normal Zeff/Brickfist mindset, which honestly felt really good. Nothing i hate more than a hand full of brickfists. Viewers need to realize that this composition is all about playing the numbers. Your mentioning of undercountering to optimize mill and then taking the life for triggers to refill hand size helped me see that. The inclusion of impel down 2k counters also threw my opponents off and I could tell they were unsure of how to swing because of them. I think going 4-1 vs RP law for the night speaks for itself. My main problem is memorizing the bottom of my deck with so many Buggys. It will get better, and 2 games last night were won because I knew exactly where my bottom decked pilaf and kayas were. Great guide, I appreciate your thoughts and hard work in putting this together. Would love to see some sim games if you are able to record or stream. Following in hopes of more Nami content!

This is a very sweet comment <3 I saw it when I woke up, but I wanted to wait until after I finished work, so I could respond properly. At the end of the day, explaining it that way was my goal and I really hope this can help spread more love for Nami in the long run. Don't worry about the haters though. The response has been overwhelmingly positive (even surprisingly to my Zeff take, which I expected to get some backlash for lol). But yes! Changing the mindset is exactly the idea I was trying to get across. There are seriously so many intricacies with this leader that that don't get addressed, but they make the leader so fun! I'm so glad to see that you're doing well with the build! :D The memorization definitely gets better as you play the deck c: I don't usually have a lot of time to make videos, so I focus on putting together the guides and meta content, but I'll start to include gameplay footage in the guides from now on c: There's definitely gonna be an 07 video on Nami Anyway, glad to have you on board! Wishing you tons of success with your games!

I think Apis is very important to dodge Pudding and OP07 Law when playing against Blue, insight I stole from Aya Tora. Mr 2 can only do his discard on attack, so you cannot discard on demand and likely he will be removed in this meta.Furthermore if you must use the Apis this way she is both cheaper, on demand, and can arrange your bottom + add a East Blue for example Gavel, Rubber Band, Pilaf, Kaya, or even Boodle/Bell-mere Speaking on Bell-mere though, I think the Bell-mere is kind of a trap with R/P Law played so heavily, in the same way that I think Zeff is a trap. Arguably in that matchup Zeff gets more value than Bell-mere, since it has higher power (can't be cleared by R/P Law Otama, only Raise Max or Gordon) and a secondary effect that will do something. But personally I think both are bad. For the OP07 list in the comment I also think you want to keep at least 2 Karakusa Brick Fist even once you have Snake Dance because you want to return your Kaya on your turn against R/P Law or Black who will remove it before attacking so you cannot counter. I agree on everything else though, but I do not remember EB01 so much
@WafflesTheAsianYenbear
@WafflesTheAsianYenbear 3 ай бұрын
I think this is a very insightful comment, but I'd like to clarify three points. When I say Mr. 2 is for hand control, I mean because he's a searchable 2k counter, not because of his effect. As a character with counter, he's never stuck in our hands, so we have an easier time activating Death Wink's conditions. On Bell-mere, she definitely should never be played in the RP Law matchup. Same as in the Sakazuki matchup. I'd rank them both the same in that matchup since they're both just 1k counters. For Snake Dance, you can still use it even if you don't have a character to return to your hand. If they KO Kaya, it's less ideal, but we can still get the counter off at least. All that being said, I'll consider your thoughts on Apis and Brick Fist. I had built the 07 deck with the intention of maximizing its win chance vs every deck that isn't RP Law, as I felt it was impossible to bridge the gap without significantly weakening the deck vs other matchups. Thank you for your input :)
@YoYakuman
@YoYakuman 3 ай бұрын
@@WafflesTheAsianYenbear I understand. Of course it depends on your area. If you play at batoloco you will play vs a lot of black or r/p law, but if you go to cardbox in yokohama it's a lot more yellow. I think if you go up north there is a lot of green and off meta. You can still use the Snake Dance or even the overheat, for Black or R/P Law the karakusa brick can let you put Kaya back in your hand to either use as the 2k in emergency or to play out the following turn. So for me anyway I like to have 2 karakusa and 4 snake dance. For the situation where I want to bounce on my turn either to protect kaya or to send away blocker sanji, since I also use the crocodile and his banish is relevant vs yellow.
