Why small towns remind the poet of death ? [1 mark]
@SosoStories3 ай бұрын
@@mayankshaw3953 The poem “ Small Towns and The River’ by Mamang Dai opens dramatically with the statement that small towns remind her of death . Here the poet speaks of the stagnation , timelessness and isolation that is characteristic of small towns. The individual and the collective close knit community is subjected to mortality , to the continuous cycle of life .

Maam is the tower of babel and tower of babylon the same?
@SosoStories5 ай бұрын
@@tanyadev1782 Thf Bible gives several instances of the toppling of this sinful city. Every man toiling away in the city of Babel trying to loft himself into the heavens in defiance of the Lord will be scattered (Genesis 11:8) . Every kingdom that breeds immorality and feasts on the saints of God will be eternally destroyed (Revelation 18:2).The tower of Babel or the tower of Babylon represent man's pride.

Mam, Need to know How this Poem of Mamang Dai was a Postcolonial Poem / what Postcolonial Elements we get in this Poem?
@SosoStories5 ай бұрын
@@arpitabiswasofficialll postcolonialism is the study of the effects of colonialism on cultures and societies . It signals the persisting influence of colonization across time periods and geographical regions. Arunachal Pradesh ,too like the rest of India was affected by British Colonialism. The policy of the British to keep the tribes of the region secluded and isolated affected them adversely. They found it difficult to integrate with the mainstream . Even today they face bais from the centre . During the British rule the Christian missionaries under the guise of modern education, health care spread the religion of Christianity . Here the tribes were losing their identity and feeling alien to their own culture. The words “ small towns grow with anxiety for the future “, remind us that these tribes face the threat of migration, industrialization and territorial shifting . The political upheaval also affects the small towns .
