Mam, Need to know How this Poem of Mamang Dai was a Postcolonial Poem / what Postcolonial Elements we get in this Poem?
@SosoStories25 күн бұрын
@@arpitabiswasofficialll postcolonialism is the study of the effects of colonialism on cultures and societies . It signals the persisting influence of colonization across time periods and geographical regions. Arunachal Pradesh ,too like the rest of India was affected by British Colonialism. The policy of the British to keep the tribes of the region secluded and isolated affected them adversely. They found it difficult to integrate with the mainstream . Even today they face bais from the centre . During the British rule the Christian missionaries under the guise of modern education, health care spread the religion of Christianity . Here the tribes were losing their identity and feeling alien to their own culture. The words “ small towns grow with anxiety for the future “, remind us that these tribes face the threat of migration, industrialization and territorial shifting . The political upheaval also affects the small towns .

Fantastic lecture I have ever heard And I feel very happy if you provide literary devices used in the poem ma'am
@SosoStories5 ай бұрын
Thank you so much 😊🙏. Hope it is helpful . Enjambment- the flow of thought goes from one line to another causing anticipation and growing interest in the conversation. Alliteration- clinical crushing …’ c’ sound repetition. Imagery- descriptive language Simile- comparing skin colour to milk Repetition - various words are repeated for effect. Assonance - lipstick coated long gold rolled ( vowel sound) Metaphor- spectroscopic ( the comparison of the device to the judgmental mindset ) Irony - the word confession…suggestive of the fact that a victim of racism is made to feel guilty .

Lovely lines from Wordsworths ‘ Daffodils’ , the finest poem that celebrates nature ! A fitting reply can be made only by the poet himself … “Therefore am I still A lover of the meadows and the woods, And mountains; and of all that we behold “

Mam can you please give this answer Justify the title of the story death of a naturalist🙂 Please mam it's a humble request
@SosoStories9 ай бұрын
The tittle of the poem “ Death of a Naturalist “ is very apt , Here Seamus Heaney metaphorically refers to the loss of the innocent enthusiasm of a child as the truths of life begin to be sensed . The poet feels that the naturalist in him has died . The frogspawn, the flax dam ,the swamp which once gave him excitement and merriment made him queasy and disgusted as he grew older . “ Death of a Naturalist “ is a poem about growing up , specifically the transition from childhood to adolescence. Here we see an exploration to the speaker’s adolescent awakening to the realities of growing up .
