Well... they took a gamble, and they lost. They wanted a quick decisive victory that would cripple the US navy and give them time to prepare for a mayor conflict. They did damage, but not as much as they wanted to, many of the ships were repaired, and the flag ships of the US navy weren't in Pearl Harbor at the time.

It was a Japanese soldier who said it after the pearl harbour attack..He had lived and studied in America before the war broke out..Everyone was joyful after the attack but he knew it was a big mistake..Sure I saw it on the series the world at war narrated by Lawrence Olivia..Best doc out there on the war in my opinion ❤

I wonder if admiral Yamamoto, knowing also about the Mongols, would have said about lbj, carter, clinton, obola, BYYDUMB: "... If war comes, America will be the most fearsome foe we have ever fought!!!"

Compared to what, Orange Traitor Trump who calls authoritarian crooks like Putin and Kim Jong Un friends? All those Democrats you mentioned loved or love America while Trump and MAGA hate the US so much that they attacked the Capitol, tried to overthrow an election, and make cause with the Russians, who talk about nuking the West.

What was the date on this, did guests always sit that far away or was Adam pretending to believe 6 feet meant anything? Sadly somehow I only discovered how much I enjoy the Aceman's show about 2 years ago. But the Newsom clips are legendary. One of my favorite laughs ever is Adam's "what's wrong with them" at 3:30

I firmly believe that if a true state, not an idea like the taliban for Al-Qaeda, but a true state with borders, that the US would respond in kind like they did in ww2. The US is angry snd to give everyone a reason to be angry at the same entity would be more then “welcomed”. I also firmly belive this is why the U.S. hasent been attacked in a manner like this by sn actual state in over 80 years (9/11 was commited by a border less entity and was at the tail end of the US’a governance over the world since 1991)

Contrary to the popular belief, there is no evidence Yamamoto made that statment in real life. The producers of Tora Tora Tora claimed they found the quote in Yamamoto's diary but they never released it. However, even if it was never said, the quote does accurately reflect Yamamoto's reaction to the attack. Yamamoto was not confident Japan could win a war with the United States.
