Huge WPST fan. Got to guest DJ with Jason in that studio in September of 97. He even let run the board for a song or 2 since he knew I was going DJ work. I remember this reunion weekend. Have a few audio tapes full of some of the airchecks. As another user said, extremely cutting edge and was one of the best.

I used to party there at that time, I was 20, it was wild. At night time people used to walk down the main strip drinking, beer. I distinctly remember leaving an empty beer on the bank lol. I remember they had a lot of clubs, you could hear the music blasting from outside. I heard they cleaned all that up since then and it's nice now. But it was nice to be low 20's party town for us back then.

The flyer was my very first coaster around 50 years ago when I was 9 or 10. 86 was my last year there until I returned to the east coast on big coaster tour of the US in 2013 only to find all the rides on hunts pier were gone

@@DelbertSting-th7if I was between junior and senior years in HS and got my DL at the end of summer. I was born just before the cutoff and was usually the youngest of my group. But ya, life really kicked into gear summer of '86. Almost forgot, end of summer was the Cinderella concert at Wildwood Convention Hall. Best show of that summer, at least for me... hoping your summer was just as memorable or even better!

Some things just, don't change. 'Cept the rides, their theme quality, their interest ability, the non monopolization of pier ownership, the PRICES, the amount of courtesy, the amount of people, those horrible, hair/clothing fashions, the cellphone technology. Uh, what was, I saying🤔⁉️

I see that I commented on this 14 years ago. I’m there now… It’s a former shell of what use to be great fun. Now it’s a commercial nightmare. Morey’s has taken over and everything is very expensive. Dante’s Inferno Demon Pitch Fork is still broken 😂 and, a lot of rides are just not manned. The younger gen is a toxic bunch. Standing around looking sus smoking weed… I wish for the 80’s to return.

This now almost 80 year old was a 17 year old senior in high school on January 1st 1961. My Uncle Russell invited me to join in the parade on 2 Street since he was as mummer. It’s a memory I’ve never forgotten, as a shy young teenage boy learned what 2 Street was all about, booze, frisky girls and the best night of my life. Yep, I even learned and can still do the Mummer’s Strut!!!

Yeah I remember the pirate ship 😅 and depends on what era you were here it had so many things that don't even come close to having in today's world! I can remember a shooting gallery where if you hit a little bull's eye target you could make the player piano play, change the color of the street light spittoon quack the duck 🦆 and so many other things. Boy what fond memories I have back in the 70's and early 80's each year coming here with my parents which are long gone themselves.

@@davidhibbs6989 I remember that shooting gallery. Used to love that as a kid. I think I was only on the pirate ship once or twice before it was gone, so I don't remember it as well, but I do know I had fun on it.

Thanks for the great video! Brought back a lot of memories. My family used to go to Wildwood every June for a week from the mid-1970s until about 1980. My favorite rides as a kid were the Whacky Shack and the Golden Nugget mine ride. In fact, that Golden Nugget mine ride made such an impression on me that I now explore abandoned mines as a hobby here on KZbin. I’ve met one other abandoned mine explorer who told me the same thing, too! That Golden Nugget mine ride certainly was a classic! We always stayed at the Ranch House Hotel in Wildwood which burned to the ground sometime in the 1980s, I believe. Right next-door to it used to be a restaurant which I believe was called the Blue Dolphin. Not sure if that still standing. I guess most of those doo-wop hotels are no longer standing. They were really creative and cleverly designed hotels that all had a unique, crazy theme. Ah, memories!

Thank you so much for sharing. I had so much fun in Wildwood in the late 80's and 90's. We would rent a shack for pennies and just have fun. Sitting on the beach hiding our beers. Pool hoping to clean the sand off us, and then enjoying the boardwalk until it closed. So much has changed and now Wildwood has priced itself out of my pay grade. I can go on better destination vacations for cheaper than a week in Wildwood......I still have those memories though
