I am getting zero gas out at the working end. The tank is fresh. The valve is on. The pressure is set to 25 (it's a Millermatic 140). I can stick the nozzle end into a tub of water, pull the trigger, and NO BUBBLES COME OUT. One would think the solenoid valve is bad, but when I pull the trigger, the pressure gauge drops to 22, as it always did before. That tells me the solenoid valve is opening. The vinyl tube inside the welder is okay with no holes. Soapy water tests show nothing is leaking. However, I've messed with this so much that the tank's original top pressure has already dropped noticeably. My welds are cratered & pitted. -- Someone tell me how this is possible. Please.

You like to use acronyms and abbreviations, so I assume this is intended for professionals who know the meaning and probably don't need the lesson at all.

Is there anyone that will actually have a real number to contact some one that has these engine driven welders in stock , i have called everyone i could locate in the local area for demo one and see what the differences are and what i need , was told i could get one financed at one point but nobody answers phones and when they finally do they are employees from mcdonalds i guess they know absolutely nothing about them or hardly what they are wow its frustrating spending literally all day on the phone wanting to buy one and still have zero help or info on nothing wow just no words, does your company want to still sell them ? Im curious if its that crazy if i have a warranty issue to contact also ! I have no words at this point ! I seriously plan that someone from the company reads this and actually wants to help out ! I used to have multiples of mig welders but now im second guess if i should even bother ! Dont know what else to do at this point but whe. You have people that want to buy something and they have tried everything possible to locate a place that would have to try them out and no help this is why you might not be selling any , i literally have run out of ideas what to do to buy one!

I appreciate Miller mentioning the flashback arrestors and installing them at the torch handle is better than nothing. However, to 100% guard against flashback, the arrestors need to be at the gauges. I am a Safety Engineer and Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and several times I’ve seen molten slag catch hoses on fire and the fire run back to the bottle. Fortunately in the cases I’ve seen there were either flashback arrestors at the gauges or someone made it to the bottle in time to turn it off. You don’t want to have to rely on someone getting to the bottle to turn it off which is why the flashback arrestors should be at the gauges on the tanks. I am also a welder and I have spent a lot of time studying this issue. My recommendation in my professional opinion would be for Miller to recommend installing flashback arrestors at the tank gauges. Thanks

Hey Miller! How about a video with 2 experienced welders putting together 0.060" thick 300 series stainless steel tubing for an exhaust system. Not for cutting and notching but to produce the cleanest weld that does not distract the eye from the system, basically no color, just a sort of shiny bead. It would be good to see back purging and comparing the welds in and out. I am sure a lot of people would benefit from how your welders can aid even the novice for welding stainless steel. Thank you, hope you use my suggestion.

Why would someone weld with a beautiful helmet? Stick to black full face gold plate.It doesn't get as dirty.I haven't worked since 2007 and I don't plan on it.Best welding instructor there was Terry Sumner.FloridaNo one needs light to weld.Tgats why once you strike it it burns and shows all you need to see

We have 15 welders of the Miller 350P from 2010 and newer, and its the Cadillac for aluminum welding, we have 3 of the new 355 and the guys hate them. Micro spatters, and tacking is not near as nice as the 350P. We have 4 Lincoln TIG welders water cooled, and they are fine, but we didn't like the Lincoln 360 MIG feeding issues on the demo we had in 2023. We have 2 manual OTC welders and 1 robotic one, and they are good welders, but we have some feeding issues on the manual machines, and the tips are quite expensive, but they weld primo. The 350P model has been the best for us, and we wish they still made it, we blow circuit boards in them from time to time, and get them fixed, and carry on with them. I will never sell them.

David, I am so impressed with your artistic talent and ease in front of the camera! I to do some scrap metal welding as a hobbyist. I learned the basics from a pro welder who has passed. I was wondering what type of wire and or gas you use for the different metals you are combining in your projects. Specifically what works best for you when attaching stainless to standard steels? I am currently set up with .030 on a Millermatic with 25/75. I will continue to follow your videos. Fascinating to see your techniques. Thanks for sharing!
@MillerWelders
@MillerWelders 28 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for your thoughtful message and for following along with David’s videos! For attaching stainless to standard steel, we’d typically recommend using a 309 or 309L filler metal. To achieve the best results, you’d also want to use a tri-mix shielding gas (90% helium, 7.5% argon, and 2.5% CO2) instead of the 75/25 mix you’re currently set up with. While ER70S-6 can get the metals to stick, it can lead to cracking and corrosion over time. We hope this helps, and we’re excited to see what projects you create next! Thanks again for your support.

I notice the option to run Flux Core. Does that mean it can handle Dual Shield? I'll tell ya what would be the hot ticket: Offer the machine in a box with a ground clamp, and let me buy leads separately as needed. I need MIG right out of the gate, and TIG a little while later. Haven't touched any SMAW since before the Iraq invasion. Would also be really badass to invent a multi-process meshing that can also do Plasma Cutting. I would sell a kidney today to buy that! Oh I forgot Can you hook up a remote MIG box to this and run the big spools?
