Can I use the stove with the wind guards and the shelves at the same time? I notice you don't have the win guards on. Also, can I store it with both on? It will be a pain for me to reinstall at each use. How tall is the stove. I can't seem to find any info on the height, length and width.

@puzzledadventurers42143 жыл бұрын
The Live Oak Campground is about a quarter mile from the beach and Beach Campground. I think I remember there being enough room on the shoulder across the causeway to ride a bike there but it is the only way on the island so it is busy.

Just bought one. I also bought the griddle. I waffled back and forth trying to decide if I wanted the 2 burner griddle or the 1. I chose the single burner griddle because I didn't want to have to remove the griddle to boil water/make coffee. I tried to do some research to see if I could boil water on the griddle itself, but I came across mixed responses. Have you tried to use pots and pans on the griddle?
@puzzledadventurers42143 жыл бұрын
We have used a pot on the griddle before, I don't remember what we were heating in the pot but we were warming something that went along with the meal but it wasn't anything that needed to boil. I would be worried that you would cook the seasoning off of the griddle trying to boil on it.

I got this same exact set up including side tables, griddle and cover lol. I've had mine for a few years now and the cover is toast, my shelves look like trash compared to yours as does the whole set up as Its been outside the whole time. I use the crap out of it though. Search youtube for Oklahoma onion burgers, grind your own meat, I buy ribeyes or T-bones on sale and grind them up and wow the best burgers on earth. if you use cheap steak save some brisket fat when you smoke one and grind that in with it. BOMB.com. Super thin onions slices is the key to the OK burger. Also my grease can holder just broke. lol

@@broccolihart1 they are cast iron so you do have to season them.
@TheNutCollector3 жыл бұрын
@@broccolihart1 correct me if I'm wrong here, but I think camp chef sells cast iron griddles which have a bumpy texture, like the lodge pans, but they also sell a steel griddle which are smooth. The steel griddle is more expensive. Just an FYI, old/antique cast iron pans have a smooth cooking surface and are better for cooking than the newer bumpy pans. It wasn't until lodge realized that selling preseasoned pans was going to be such a hit that they started making pans with a bumpy texture, they do this to make the factory seasoning easier and faster to apply. Imo the newer lumpy cast iron is awful to cook with. Keep your eye out at thrift stores for antique cast iron, it usually super cheap.

great video. I am planning a trip in a month time. I am completely new to RV. any advice you have for a first timer in how to connect the RV to water/power/sewage?
@puzzledadventurers42144 жыл бұрын
For this particular campground there are not any sewer hookups, there is a dump station on the right hand side of the main road just past the Live Oak side of the campground as you leave the park. The sites we have stayed on the power and water hookups have been conveniently located so that we have not needed more than a 25' water hose or an extension for our power. All sites have had 20 and 30 amp power. Hope this helps.

thinking about going in a couple weeks, did you use a cast net for bait or can you buy it somewhere down there? 2nd question did you inshore fish with your kayak and if so is there a location near by to put kayaks in the water?

I did buy mud minnows from Edisto Watersports, They are on the southern end of the beach. I was looking for live shrimp but they were out the day I went. I had the best results on live mullet I netted on the beach. The intention was to take the kayaks in the backwater creeks but I was unable to find a place to put in that was close to where I wanted to be. There is a public boat landing I found on the main land side of the bridge to the beach (live Oak Boat Landing) it will put you on one of the bigger creeks. There are a couple marinas on the beach side that may allow you to put kayaks in but I usually avoid them because the amount of boat traffic.
