Not really, maybe your laptop has been overheating or battery not taken care of. You can try contacting your manufacturer but they usually don't take it seriously until it's like 30% , tho there are people I know who got their battery replaced for free by escalating their support request

In my case, this made it worse to be honest. Lost 10% health rather. The only fix that worked im my case is as follows: 1. Disconnect your external battery if any and also internal battery from motherboard. 2. Press power button for 15 seconds or more. Then connect charger and power on the laptop without battery. 3. Uninstall 'ACPI Method battery' driver from 'Device Manager> Battery' 4. Shutdown Laptop. 5. Attach battery to motherboard again. Start the laptop normally. Driver will be reinstalled automatically. 6. Do once 100% then let drop to 0% and make sure device does not power on at all. Then charge to 100% without using it much. But again, it got me back to almost where I had started, did not extend battery health. TLDR: this did not do anything in my case, made it worse. Device: Lenovo Ideapad 320

hello, i hope you will respond to me since this video is 3 years old. my laptop has completly new battery, it lasts 5-6 hours in power mode, full brightness while watching video. i did this trick of discharging and chargind again and battery health went from f to good, also capacity went from 25 to 36-33 (changing through cycles). yet it still gets stuck on 7 percent for an hour and at 0 for 1.5 hour, what can i do.
@Codephile4 ай бұрын
Your manufacturer would suggest a factory reset, since battery recalibration didn't work. They might also make you update your drivers. Tho, I read somewhere that it's not bad for laptops to stay up little longer when battery is supposed to be discharged, since it protects battery. It's best you contact them, and convince them to change your battery ( it's better, if it happens, even if it doesn't fix ,but since you do have a point of asking for battery replacement)

Why doesn't my laptop battery show 'cycle count' ? And how to fix it ?
@Codephile4 ай бұрын
"As you may already know, the battery cycle counts as one when your device has used 100% of its battery. (i.e. discharging to 50% then recharging one day, then discharging to 50% and recharging again the next day will count as one cycle) Have you ever let your laptop run off of charger and let it use up 100% of its charge? Because if you haven't, the count remains zero, or "-"." Taken from Microsoft Forum. I hope it's of help.

What's the full charge and design capacity of your laptop 's battery? If recalibration didn't work, did you try resetting your laptop? If both doesn't work, it's likely a faulty battery and if it's under warranty, claim it before it's later.
@rvrss71926 ай бұрын
The effect is very limited, however. Despite after a few re-calibration cycles my Dell E7270 battery capacity has increased somewhat, it's still much less than the actual one (based on how long the PC actually works after reaching "zero charge"), and it's not correcting anymore regardless of how many additional re-calibration cycles have been applied.
@Codephile5 ай бұрын
Yes, it's very limited. I didn't know much back then. I'm looking forward to posting a better updated video soon. If you can stick around and see if those things work, I be grateful 😌

Boot into the BIOS and let it drain from there, it will stay on untill there is litterally no power left. I have a Dell and there is a batettey meter inside of the BIOS. It went down to 1%, so the machine thought it was drained, but the laptop stayed on for an extra 20 mintes. Had to run this cycle twice.

Do you shut down your laptop or close the lid? If you just close the lid, laptop enters sleep state which still consumes battery.

I performed a calibration on my laptop and it seemed to work fine. However, after one complete battery cycle from 100% to 0%, when I fully charged the battery, it suddenly dropped from 34% to 4%. Upon checking the Dell official website, I found out that it is recommended to perform the battery calibration three times. . . Is it safe to callibrate the battery 3 times?
@Codephile8 ай бұрын
It does hurt your battery a bit, and if you do perform it three times, i wouldn't recommend the fourth anytime in next 6-8 months atleast. 3 times seems excessive to me, but I'm not official so make sure, it's coming from genuine site/user. You can go ahead, and if your laptop is under warranty, it's better to get it replaced by mailing their CEO/escalated support directly P.S. Battery replacement* not laptop replacement

Try restarting it again, and if it doesn't turn ON, charge the battery to 100% ( and prefer not using it) It depends on type of battery and when it was made, but using your laptop on charge is pretty much common for gaming laptops, and as long as your laptop isn't overheating ( or heating over 70-75°C) , you can use it during Charging

It's due to the limit set by some software for battery protection ( capping the charging to 80%) For Asus laptops it's under the "MyAsus" App
