Why the Ri is katakana not hirigana

In fact, the katakana "リ" and hiragana "り" are very similar in character shape. The katakana "リ" is always spaced apart, and the lines are relatively straight. The hiragana "り" can be spaced apart or connected, depending on the font. Please take a look at the various "Ri"!🙂
