Man, what an aesthetically pleasing zoo. I've seen people make realistic zoos in Planet Zoo but this is the first realistic zoo I've seen someone build in Prehistoric Kingdom

Do the vocalizations still fit smilodon? I remember a paper that came out saying that it may have sounded more like a cougar
@GallowglassVT4 күн бұрын
Some of the vocals sound a bit cougar-ish, albeit with more resonance, given the bulk of the animal.

What a creative challenge idea! This just makes me wish we get better means to add really small animals in our parks, imagine making your own custom aquariums or terrariums, able to customize as you see fit and fill with water. Ive always been disappointed with how smaller animals got treated in PZ, so i hope when we cross that bridge PK does it better. Look forward to seeing more!

Unfortunately, if we could bring back dinosaurs, I don’t think large sauropods like Argentinosaurus would be feasible without huge space, very strong fencing, and plenty of food. They’d make elephants look like light eaters in comparison. So I like the more realistic angle for this zoo. The exhibit looks very nice
@NewAge37412 күн бұрын
I mean, no modern zoo could pull that off, but there's nobody saying that several multimillionaires can't pool money together and create parks that attract visitors across country borders
@azrielmoha68778 күн бұрын
There's an art drawing project online that showcases what a realistic nature reserve with dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals would've looked like. It's set on a fictional Fiji-sized island near New Caledonia and the reserve fills half of the island. Even then the park only has one sauropod species and it only consists of a few individuals due to how expensive their feeding cost would've been. The park is called Eden Paleo-zoological Park.

@@BigBossMan538 A concept art was teased on the Discord server. It will be a mini-exhibit animal but not like the current implementation of Microraptor and Archaeopteryx. These will get a mechanical design overhaul and terrestrial minis will act like the larger animals, except they will have only one skin and cannot be hunted. The aerial ones are still up for speculation how they will work

Can I get enough of sauropod(omorph)s? No, I want more! Comparing the concept art of Brontosaurus with the in-game look is stellar, the texture and colour painting is fantastic work. Can't wait to see Ankylosaurus get the same treatment. The skin concepts in the artbook look very distinct from another and must turn out beautiful in-game. I looked up size estimates for both genera and it appears that the average for Apatosaurus would be 21-23m but it depends on the species, while Brontosaurus could be a meter or 2 shorter on average, again depending on the species. PK doesn't have to include that size difference but they have for other alternate species/genera so it wouldn't hurt here, I suppose

Not gonna lie, kinda glad that dinosaur-eating-human animations aren’t in the game yet cause that would give PK a Jurassic Park vibe which it isn’t (unpopular opinion)
@MicrowaveMan-gy9nu14 күн бұрын
i still want dinosaurs to eat humans in the future, animation or not. it makes the risks high because dinosaurs are really dangerous. i hope PK focuses on the fact that dinosaurs arent your average animal when it comes to security.
@thenaturalistgamer52314 күн бұрын
@@MicrowaveMan-gy9nu I hope the devs handle animal breakouts and them attacking keepers in a way that makes them still feel ground. At the end of the day, they are animals, but even animals in zoos today can cause a lot of damage if not taken care of possibly. Would also love to see sauropods and other large herbivores be the more dangerous animal to keep given that large herbivores today cause zoos the most amount of issues.

Hey, do you think we’ll still get Diplodocus in Prehistoric Kingdom, or do you think Apatosaurus and Brontosaurus being added could result in it getting scrapped, like how Deinonychus was replaced with Utahraptor?
@thenaturalistgamer52315 күн бұрын
I still think Diplodocus will be added to PK one day, but I really doubt it will be added during Early Access. Of course, we'll have no idea until we get more updates and know what the full roster of animals is for Early Access.
@foxxtitan702814 күн бұрын
It have been said that animals who were originaly planed will come to the game, but for now just a couple of those have been retained for the early access period alongside a couple of unknown species. Devs have assure that the species who will not be featured in EA will be in post EA.

Nice project! I like the small ones that appear to have a final goal ready at the start, something to work towards and consider it finished. I'm kind of hoping you don't stick with the boring square layout but use the environment outside the park to determine the shape of the boundaries. I personally don't care much for speed builds unless you're building something with a particular technique you want us to learn from. Stick with short update videos like this

I think the zoning should follow what makes sense from a management perspective; it's extra important to use the limited space you have. Velo and Coelo being small and less dangerous carnivores, Dilo and Smilo as no contact predators, Juxia near Plateo for being the largest herbivores (close to the food preparation station), and the others can occupy empty spaces
@nmci895911 күн бұрын
If theres space, it'd be neat to house urgunaluk or ouranosaurus as "small" representatives of the diversity of ornithopods in the cretaceous(through if we do end up getting tenonto. That would certainly be better size wise.) I also think Dryosaurus would be neat aswell, maybe housing them with scelidosaurus as they are both small jurassic herbivores and to conserve space (maybe a pair of scelidos and a small herd of dryos).
